And even if you're not roleplaying as a VTuber, VTubers pretty much do what Internet video creators usually do, just with more elaborate avatars. Heck, we even got a bunch of those who aren't into the nicher parts of Japanese nerd culture thoughtfully trying it!
People said low quality and low effort reaction videos on tiktok and insta are content creators, then vtuber that try hard to entertain you with their uniqueness are called content creator too.
I kinda get where those comments stemmed from, like I used to think "why vtuber when I can simply watch an irl streamer" Then the whole Selen issue happened and a certain legal channel that I follow started covering it and it's down the rabbit hole from there on. At least if you ask me now, I will say and stand by that vtubers have as much or even more creativity than regular cookie cutter content creators.
