Ed filmed alot of MV's in the rough seas of norfolk in england back in december and january. The symbolism of this song which is being battered and shattered by the waves but still having the will to keep going and believing that things will eventually become alright is so inspiring. I do not care if this album does not sell that much i just hope that this tune and all the other tunes in subtract resonate with everyone. Everyone has some pain and grief in life and if you just hang in there you'll eventually come to the shore and appreciate the waves who have made you stronger and more determined xx

Ed Sheeran is such a gifted storyteller and musician. It's so incredibly impressive to see him live, no band, just him captivating a sold-out open stadium audience who are all singing back to him. One part was shot in the water with waves covering him, and the other part was filmed in a studio against a green screen with him singing. Then they place his singing face on top of the shot of him in the water to create the final video.

There's something so genuine and raw about Ed Sheeran's acoustic music that just hits differently. Don't get me wrong, I still love his pop songs, but there's just something special about the simplicity and authenticity of his acoustic tunes that make them timeless. I am an African and growing up as a boy I used to envy living in the West. As a working class African, I realised that my desire for Europe has actually disappeared. Reason is, if you can afford to escape abject poverty in Africa, become a comfortable middle class, you are probably much better in terms of material benefit to an average European. With my income, I can afford to build a good house, with all basic utilities, afford quality private healthcare, vacations, latest technologies, take my kids to good schools and have 2 cars. I realised that if I were to go to the West, I would endlessly chase my tail, with bills and an expensive cost of living, with constant racism over my shoulder. I figured I am better here. I can retire with a comfortable pension with a big piece of land, oh well while occasionally cursing government corruption and ineptitude.
I can’t say enough about Ed his music is an absolute treasure to listen to. He’s a down to earth guy just like one of us and that is what’s so special about him. He’s a treasure in himself.. his songs are just top notch 100% beautiful 😍
One day we need to have a conversation about how Ed Sheeran has been so consistent with what he does (connecting and making people feel deep emotions). Long live Ed🙏❤

Got to see Ed in concert in Detroit. We lost my aunt and the countdown to him coming on stage had hundreds of butterflies which have always been my sign that's she's with us. She loved them. This song was the one I was worried would make me cry. So beautiful. Ended up being photograph. The best concert I have ever been to genuinely. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ my mom and I got the lyrics the waves won't break my boat tattooed with a little sailboat under the stars for my aunt. This reminds me of some of Ed's older songs like Sunburn, which I love. Its the type of song that isn't trying to conform to a typical song structure but instead is being more naturally lead by the unfolding melody, and isn't afraid to be stripped back. I love this side of Ed, and I think songs like these make him an untouchable artist.

The thing I like about ed sheeran songs is that being one of the richest pop star of this generation he never show offs and use any foul language, Ed keeps it simple and if you see ed songs they comes up with strong emotions and vibes which is so real and makes him unique compare to other singers ❤️🙂👍🏻
