Previously our markets were managed by FII. Now MFs are forced to invest by buying good companies in small and Midcaps. We cannot draw parallels now. Investors knowledge has increased. Every analyst is saying don't expect returns in smallcap. Then why are they not selling all their small funds and be on cash 50%. Even large caps are not moving anywhere and seesawing. Index is being managed and cutting is happening for selective stocks. Good video for reviewing history.

Now , yes. Earlier, there was tax indexation benefit with Debt Funds. But from this April, its gone. So both debt fund and FD has same features
