Kakeru as a player likes the parry mechanic. It’s a more flexible option compared to DI. Parry costs less because of the refund and you can cancel into a button. Later in the set he realizes it’s a blunder and he starts to react with DI. Players tend to autopilot when they’re gathering information on what buttons their opponents are pressing.
Its not about liking parry mechanics over DI lol. Its about mental stack. Its easier to react with parry over DI bc parry is already in the mental stack.
It’s close to evo now and he doesn’t wanna lose all the time he had with Ken if he switched to Akuma. If Akuma came out earlier maybe he would’ve lobbed with him more
@@treytison1444 not even close lmao you know you can see the damage of all chars combos in training right? He has great damage, but his lower life matters greatly. The lower life is the sole reason why Tokido is playing Ken over Akuma no other reason. SF6 is too volatile especially in a tournament setting for the low health to be worth it.
Kakeru barely utilized Akuma's kit here. Not once did he use the shadow dash/grab, and only a couple demon flips. Akuma has low HP because of his varied kit and he's not even using him optimally. I see a lot of top pros do this when they play off their main. They don't really learn the new character, they just use their deep base knowledge to poke and confirm and mix. It works up to you hit the top where every advantage matters. Is there a pro player that actually uses Akuma to the fullest?
Angry bird. But he also plays fireball, neutral control game as well. He usually uses the flips and grab if and only if he has the advantage and mental stack on neutral, on combos and set ups he also uses the demon flip after h rekka oki
Can't Tokido face somebody like AngryBird's Akuma or Punk's Akuma for change? I just want him to demonstrate that either Capcom made a weak Akuma or that Tokido just doesn't have what it takes to have a commanding control over Akuma like he once did.
Everybody understandably wants Tokido to pick up Akuma, but that really doesn't make sense to do right now. Mastering a character can take a long time, and with EVO right around the corner, the best move for Tokido is to just stick with the still very strong character he was already playing. Maybe he'll surprise us with his super secret top 8 pocket Akuma, but he's probably the best Ken in the world right now, why give that up to play a character that just dropped?
@@GuntPunderson-jl5ni The best Ken was AngryBird but the question is has AngryBird got up to speed with Akuma better than Tokido. Sure many folks would prefer to support Tokido's choice regardless of his inability to handle Akuma but when it comes to the winning EVO, Akuma enthusiasts wouldn't care who uses Akuma as long as he wins. To allow Akuma players understand Ken's weaknesses under the control of Tokido early would definitely help Akuma progress to EVO finals.

Akuma isn't too tier
I don't understand kakeru's decision to keep trying to PP the DI when he can just DI back

I think tokido didn't switch to akuma cuz akuma health and he already more than 25k battles in ken he didn't want to waste all these battles
People think Akuma health matters when you do 2x as much damage as other characters.

Ken is better than akuma, fact
