There's no question that her vocal abilities and the way she's using them are far beyond excellent. I want to focus on another aspect of her coming through. It's the way she is performing. Look at the humble way she shows her big personality. The way she interacts with the audience and leads them through a kaleidoskop of emotions to "tell the story of a song". They are not done like an actor can do, they are true and natural. She's not going on stage to say "hey look, I'm a big star", she's always in reach of the audience and shows them "I love what I do and I'm here for you!" This is seldom to find nowadays and is as "impressive" as her singing.
She’s the queen of Whitney covers! Her tone is as close to our beloved Whitney as possible. I haven’t seen you react to Glennis in a long time! It’s so great to watch 😊
For me too her tone is the closest to WH I’ve ever heard and this song and this performance brings that home for me, just close your eyes and listen 👂🏻
This is how you pay homage to the greatest singer to live! Thank you Ms. Glennis Whitney gave birthed to one child biologically but vocally she birthed generations. Glennis, Tevin Campbell, Johnny Manuel, Jessie J, Deborah Cox, Brandy and the names go on and on...
Maybe the most creative i heard Glennis Grace go with a song.. sometimes she might " lack " that but the runs and the way she made it her own was flawless.
She lacks creativity in your eyes covering WH but it has a reason. When it comes to WH she chooses to stay as close as possible to her, out of great respect for her idol. Whitney Houston was the reason that she started to sing at 9 years old. She is 42 now and honors her once or twice a year with a tribute concert. Her WH covers are just a small part of her huge portfolio including own songs. To prove that she can make any song her own: listen to Bon Jovi’ s Always, ft Glennis Grace. A complete new work of art.

Just my opinion but much of it is luck and being in the right place at the right time in so many ways.
