Somehow, I'm just listening to this for the first time now. Imo It's really cool that Kamelot and Epica both used the same motif for their releases, I love finding musical references/links to other songs when I'm listening to music.
@@liamfernandeznahuel bro Tommy just took over Kamelot but The One who raised Kamelot was Roy Khan. :) This is reason why Tommy is most singing songs from old Albums like is Karma, Epica, Black Halo, Ghost Opera or Poetry for the Poisoned. BTW THE most listened songs are only from Roy Khan. I only said Roy is more Kamelot than Tommy thats all so you dont have to be mad.
Tommy really channels the quiet power of Roy's voice, and this song is my favourite of the new Kamelot. I'm so impressed and mesmerized by this pretty song.
Why are the bonus tracks always so good... like the shadows, pendulous fall, this song... and for the ppl arguing about Roy vs tommy.. seriously, check out Roys younger live albums (when he was like tommys age now) such as the expedition, or conception live in Germany, and understand how vocal fatigue works, and realize Roy poured out his soul at every show for decades. Bottom line is they are both great singers, and I don't think anyone else would have been a better replacement. Be happy they can keep playing and delivering awesome vocals. And if you still think Roy isn't as good, you definitely haven't heard his live albums yet. Even one cold winters night is amazing and he's really fatigued for that one. But he delivers nonetheless. Sorry for lack of caps and punctuation, I'm on a touch screen.
Kiko C Yeah, Epilogue is my favorite as well. It even qualifies as my favorite Kamelot song along with Abandoned and Memento Mori. That's a rare thing. The only other band that has a bonus track in my top 3 favorite tracks of them is Blind Guardian (Harvest of Sorrow, that is).
Greatest track from a great album. I remember I was in Tokyo for holidays and used to listen to Silverthorn on the subway, while wondering by myself. Great time. Thanks for uploading it! :-)
I have never heard this one before. I have Silverthorn (not the Japan/Korean version obviously) and this is easily the second best song on the album behind Sacrimony. Fantastic!
Japan typically gets extra bonus material because albums are a lot more expensive there. The equivalent of like $30-$50 American is apparently about average.
Khan is by far my favorite vocalist of all time. His passion, his art, his poetry, his voice, his motions. Still, I kind of "don't want him" to return to Kamelot, as I absolutely love the direction they took with Tommy.
Roy is definitely my favourite vocalist of all time, but I think Tommy has done a great job. In fact, I think over time he's grown to be a better fit with Kamelot than Khan ever was. He really fit Conception better, but I feel as though he was always a raw contrast to both bands, and I feel he'd do best in a different project. We'll see, I suppose.
Allow me to disagree on that point, cause I believe that the vocal lines Khan had at conception never were a fit for the rest of the music and Khan's Kamelot was something out of this world. On the contrary, in fact, I believe that Tommy is a better fit for something like Conception, as we have seen and listened to his work with Seventh Wonder.
It's fun how I found this band some months ago looking for some Tommy stuff after falling in love with his voice in The theory of everything by Ayreon.
In that they both include half of a common motif in Baroque (although in different keys, with different notes)? This album came out almost two years ago, well before Epica's latest release, regardless. Doesn't matter, since Epica and Kamelot are bands that are very close buddies. I'm sure it was a deliberate thing, that this bonus song's keyboard intro be used as the album intro on their new one. Gives the two albums a sense of connection. I see them as both being bands that are creatively linked.
CallingCrowe Of course Epica and Kamelot are linked. After all the band Epica was founded in inspiration to Kamelot. That's why they called their band "Epica" which like you surely know is an album of Kamelot. On top of that Kamelot and Epica are even more close because Oliver Palotai and Simone Simons are a couple. So it kind of surprises me that they aren't collaborating even more with another. Imagine Kamelot and Epica going on a tour together. That would be so incredibly awesome!
Oh!! That's something i had never heard of (I mean epica being formed as a kamelot inspired ensemble). AND OHMAGAH WOULD IT BE AWESOME. :D * RAINBOW PUKE *
Στράτος Καραγιάννης lol it's pretty severe when you're puking rainbows. But I agree :D That would be the best concert that anyone had ever attended to!
Tim Perry Yeah, it's exactly the first three notes of that phrase + the standard double bass. That's nothing to qualify for a similarity and maybe just a symptom for listening way too few music in general. ;)
Well... I know what i'm going to buy when I go to Japan in April 2019 (A year after the shadow theory came out, coincidence I think not... I actually do think it is coincidence seeing as I am going on a school trip that normally goes in September but they had to move it forward to April because of the rugby cup ).
None like Roy. Inarguably. I feel that Roy Khan has delivered huge punches in songs like Temples of gold, The spell, karma, and almost every other song.... But I have to say, Tommy is doing a fine job as the lead singer.
I don't get why people keep comparing Khan and Tommy, they sound nothing alike? At all? Tommy's voice is much more fuller, rounder. Khan's was kinda rough, so where exactly do they sound the same? I don't get it.
Tommys voice is much fuller?? Tommy is an imitator not an inovator. Roy Khan Can do much more with his voice and his voice is far more unique and exceptional in every way! People are right, not comparable :)
not quite, actually. because roy's voice wasnt fuller (it lacked support) he lost his voice, he pushed it too far. i honestly cant decide whose voice i like the most, but for sure that tommy can handle higher notes and key changes more effortlessly that khan did. allthough khan has that unique touch in his voice that one can explain, which makes him one of the best singers ever (and the fact that he studied opera lol) the new kamelot vibe is fantastic, and the bonus track to the album haven (the ties that bind) is perfection to me, cause it joins kamelot old-style and tommy's voice
This song's lyrics and theme is almost identical to The Black Parade from Seventh Wonder's Mercy Falls - not that it's a bad thing; I infer that Tommy is the brainchild for the poetic content of this song.
+Epictemptation7 Thats because this song is recycled from the melody in Originem written and performed by Epica. That would technically be copyright infringement unless Simone Simmons boyfriend(Kamelots Pianist) wrote the piece which is unlikely.
The beginning of this track is recycled from the piece Originem by the group Epica. Search for the piece on you tube and listen to the string melody near the beginning. Weird....
Silverthorn was released 2 years before Epica's The Quantum Enigma. So actually Epica "recycled", not Kamelot. Do some research before claiming that one ripped off another lol
I have done my research . A songs existence or origin is not quantified or judged based upon when it was released to the general public . Read the post before skimming through the contents and making an eratic counter response .
It was the Japanese bonus track for the album; Kamelot hasn't uploaded most of their bonus tracks to Spotify, with the exception of Season's End and Pendulous Fall because they were both *also* featured on the special edition of Ghost Opera.
This album came out years before the Epica album used that tune! However, both bands are closely linked and it makes sense that they would reference each other. I mean, the name Epica came directly from a Kamelot album, after all!
***** Actually, the reason why Japanese editions always have bonus tracks is very practical. The european editions of the albums are cheaper than the japanese. That's why they need exclusive content so the japanese audience will get the national albums instead of the europeans. I suppose the distributors pay more for these bonus tracks so they can have them. Freaking economics :)
Better than most of the songs on the album. And not because the album is bad, but because this song is just so good!
Tommy’s voice is amazing and this song is really good too he’s one of the coolest human beings on earth.
Somehow, I'm just listening to this for the first time now. Imo It's really cool that Kamelot and Epica both used the same motif for their releases, I love finding musical references/links to other songs when I'm listening to music.
Personally, I take this song as the band's final ode to Khan, appreciating everything he has done with the band trough all those years :)

Roy's vocals were incredible. I think the One Cold Winter's Night was one of his best performances. So much passion and emotion...
Roy's vocals are professional, and all were intentionally done, so don't doubt in his skill, ability, or talent.
Kamelot - Leaving Too Soon = Epica - Originem
+Reiimon Chopiin Ahh, finally someone who noticed.
Didn't hear this track before!! It's amazing! Waiting for the brand new Kamelot masterpiece this spring!
Anton Andrukhovich it's unfortunate because Haven just didn't hold up to this album imo. still good but not amazing
a beautiful song. kamelot does it again!! I can't stop listening to it
The best bonus track by Kamelot...
Well maybe Epilogue is better...
Kiko C I actually prefer this one, which is surprising considering how much of a Khan fanboy I am.
I think that nothing beats Snow in the "should have entered the album" department, but this one would easily be on Silverthorn in my opinion.
All about that "Can you remember"

How have I not heard this before?! One of the best from Silverthorn
Greatest track from a great album. I remember I was in Tokyo for holidays and used to listen to Silverthorn on the subway, while wondering by myself. Great time. Thanks for uploading it! :-)
The part at 0:44-0:47 sounds like Descent of the Archangel's opening motif (around 0:50 in)!

This might be my favorite Kamelot song actually.
This song is just so perfect :D dem vocals
The songs sound so good. I cant wait for a new album.
this song makes me think about something a friend said to me when I was much younger.
My favourite Tango from the album of my life so far!
Simply awesome.
oh my god! Es cierto,la intro es exactamente igual a Epica-"originem".De todos modos, que pedazo de canción,una de los mejores bonus.
Epica tomó la melodía para su intro.
Well, damn. This song is pretty awesome!

Very very nice song
I really like how Tommy is working so far with Kamelot. People, stop trying to have another Kahn... let`s move on.

HG 1911 tommy is great, just wasted on Kamelot. They are so generic nowadays and tommy should just stick with Seventh Wonder.
Wow.. Pre-ordered Silverthorn way back and I'm just now finding this.. fml
Great track though.
Brings memories from Fourth Legacy, Karma and Epica. Maybe best song from Silverthorn..!!!
Originen by Epica
More songs like this they will be back bigtime.
Perfect song!
Awesome song *.*

Excellent song \m/
I get a lot of "Hunters Season" in the chorus too
seriously? There is not even a slight similarity
The drum/guitar sounds pretty similar along with the ascending "because we're all.." as well as the general structure. It's not a complaint
Tim Perry

I hear it, at least in the chorus I do. Just that in Leaving Too Soon it's in a much higher pitch.
Tim Perry Mate you're totally right - too bad I read your comment BEFORE actually hearing it - it made it even more striking xD
very good song(sorry for my english),casey grillo plays very fast and solos of keyboard´re excelent!
I like singing in metal
Why the bonus tracks re solicitud good. Sadly the band never play It😥
Why are bonus tracks usually the best?
because hey are played against secret bosses
The keyboards strongly remind me of another song but I cannot quite remember which.. I think it's an epica song

here is expensive too, specialy bands like this that are not "common"... so... 30 usd. or more. is normal.
muito boa essa musica.

He sounds more like Khan in this song than the others in my opinion
He uses Khan's signature falsetto switching.
