Hey everyone! Join me as I watch Transformers Dark of the Moon for the first time today! The big betrayal was a huge surprise.
Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) and his new girlfriend, Carly (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley), join the fray when the evil Decepticons renew their longstanding war against the Autobots. Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) believes that resurrecting ancient Transformer Sentinel Prime (Leonard Nimoy), once the leader of the Autobots, may lead to victory. That decision, however, has devastating consequences; the war appears to tip in favor of the Decepticons, leading to a climactic battle in Chicago.

Night at the Museum is probably my most favorite underrated franchise
I like the scene that optimus speak to sentinel 'you didn't betray me, you betray yourself'. Sentinel used to said that freedom is everyone's right, what he betray is not optimus but his oath.
Yeah especially when Sentinel said "It's time for the slave of the Earth to recognize their masters.".
Actully Sentinel Prime didnt wanted to betray them but he just wanted theyre planet cybertron back and megatron wants the same thing!
Beacuse if you watched Transformers The Last Knight megatron said *my home* or hiw did he said it.

Megatron firing at Sentinel Prime was one of the most satisfying moments on film. 🔥
Fun Fact: Sentinel Prime was mentioned in the last film when Sam had a meltdown in his astrology class.

Also Megan Fox was fired after making some jokes about the director, Michael Bay, comparing him to Hitler or Napoleon on set. There are conflicting reports that it was Michael Bay or the Producer Steven Spielberg that fired her. Later Megan said in a interview she called Michael a few months after her firing, asked how he was doing, he asked how she was doing, so they were still on speaking terms and later she appeared in the Michael Bay produced, Ninja Turtles.
I don’t blame her for leaving Michael always made her look like she was a sex symbol all the time and most of Hollywood too

And a huge dissapointment really.... He was so cool and showed like he was a big bad in The start of the movie and like he was gonna be a huge problem and his worn got killed super easy and then he himself got killed super easy 🥺🤨

The scene where Sentinal is trashing the hangar after he reveals his betrayal, apparently Sentinal kills Skids and Mudflap off-camera right before that scene plays out. The dumb twin autobots from Revenge of the Fallen. You see their cars earlier in the movie but not after Sentinals betrayal.
Tho they were total dumbasses they deserved better than an off screen death

what the actual f*ck, they were so innocent. Sentinels done enough and killing ironhide was the step out of line for me.
@@hawk5394 if it's not canon, then where are Skids and Mudflap after Sentinel's betrayal? Better yet, where is Jolt from Revenge of the Fallen? He didn't die on screen and died to Shockwave in the comics. We never see him again.

The real word reason to what happen to mikaela is that the actress (Megan Fox) called the director of this film (Michael Bay) Adolf Hitler & then she was fired & replaced

Carly is actually a G1 character from the cartoon. We met her when Spike (in this case Sam) were young, and then eventually married and had a son, Daniel.

The script for Dotm was made for Megan fox. That is why the Carly character doesn’t make sense because it is meant to be Megan foxes character but she was fired weeks before filming.
The Decepticons were planning this for a long time they were just waiting for the perfect moment since Sentinel never completed his deal with Megatron during the war so unfinished buisness..
Well Megatron could’ve told the Fallen to revive Sentinel so they could’ve had unlimited energon plus cybertron.
In Transformers 2 when Sam was in his class and he saw symbols and went crazy on the board he said, "Sentinel Prime Expedition" and Revenge of the Fallen was 2009 and Dark of the Moon was 2011...
I could see that
The reason why Optimus wasn't strong enough to overcome Sentinel, but still was able to kill Megatron with only one hand is that Sentinel was caught off guard.
Sentinel is biggest one of all Autobots, also created not only to rule and invent (as most Primes), but also to fight and conquer. He is stronger than Optimus in his regular form (without flying exoskeleton). And I think that Prime Megatron is strong enough to beat Sentinel. He was close to victory in fight with Optimus, before Sam killed him with power of the Cube.
And for all people, who will say that in sequel Optimus gave Megatron no chance at all, I mention that leader of Decepticons gets weaker every film in first trilogy. In the first one he is ultimate war machine. In the second one he become some sort of Frankenstein, created with parts of regular Decepticons (who was much weaker then Prime Megatron himself), what makes him weaker. And in the end of trilogy Megatron suffers from rust and wounds unable even to transform in his flying form.
So, in face to face combat Sentinel is strong enough to fight bouth maimed Megatron and regular Optimus.
The soundtrack in this one is awesome. The music on the highway chase scene and the Optimus final attack when he flys in is awesome and has always resonated with me

Yes, because Optimus knew Megatron would trap Sam that way to get information. Megatron goes to any length to win.
He also warned humanity in the 2nd film that the Decepticons may not leave if the Autobots did.
Even if they agreed to leave.
The Fall Of Chicago is pretty much the result of that warning going unheeded.
Sentinel Prime is pretty much representing the very Primes that he rebelled against.
In the last film Optimus killed Megatron's mentor, in this film Megatron uses Optimus' mentor to shake him to his very core.

Sentinel Prime is voiced by Spock himself Leonard Nimoy
That's why it was a nice touch for Wheelie and Brains watching startrek.
He was also the original Galvatron in the 1986 animated "Transformers:The Movie".

It actually quite funny how many familiar actors are in this movie. We have Ken Jeong, John Malkovich, Patrick Dempsey, The guy from dodgeball, the Russian guy from spiderman 2+3, the government lady, and the remaining members of the previous cast.🔥Lineup if you ask me
This 3rd installment is definitely my favorite. The scene where Optimus just charges through all the decepticons in Chicago with the music and emotion is the best scene in the franchise
I'll never forgive anybody for the thought of Sentinel and Ironhide.

Y'now, I can totally accept the Transformers existing in our world with all their mechanics and gyrations, but it's really stretching the realms of my imagination to believe that a first-year uni/college student wouldn't want to go to school with their kick-ass sports car, that they'd leave it behind, that's weird enough, but... BUT... now I'm supposed to believe that Sam Witwicky could score with Megan Fox AND Rosie Huntington-Whiteley?!?!

When I watched the movie for the first time I was totally surprised by the twist that Sentinal Prime is evil. Btw I think this movie is very underrated
I greatly respect Leonard Nimoy, but I hated that Sentinel killed Ironhide and almost killed Optimus.
When i was around age 7 or 5 i went to the movie theater with the whole family to watch transformers 2007 that i liked the autobots until they showed the Decepticons so i chose to like the Decepticons from their bad ass design and one of my favorite Decepticon is Megatron even o was cheering for him when he killed prime in Revenge of The Fallen even when he was beating the living shit out of Sentinel Prime in Dark of The Moon

Honestly my best advice to you Cody is just to skip 4 and 5. They both dump 90 percent of the old cast without explanation and are generally boring. Instead watch Bumblebee, which is a prequel reboot with good action but also good characters. Also watch Transformers The Movie (1986) - I know it seems old but dated is this last thing I’d call it. If you like how mecha animes look then you’ll love this. It has all the characters that you’ve grown to love (optimus, bumblebee, megatron etc) and builds the mythology that the Michael bay movies adopt, except the 86 movie does better
In my opinion I would say watch 4 not 5. At least 4 was exciting action wise, the story might have been weird but I think it’s a good watch

The reason Mikaela’s not in this is cause the actor portraying her got fired before this movie came out. Can’t remember why, but she did.

Fun Fact : Black Veil Brides Set The World On Fire was supposed to be in the movie but I think Andy (the leader singer) said no due to their record label at the time or that they didn’t have time to talk it over so they just put the song on the transformers album.

In many versions if transformers sentinal prime is actualy the proper leader of autobots he normaly stays behind on cybertron to fight the decepticons or dies he and optimas a t as joint leaders in others but he allways some sort of leader and somone optimas trusts and respects
I love that they bring Optimus trailer back from the cartoon. Also Carly was a character from the cartoon to, so i like her better.
The original ending had megatron be genuine in his offering Optimus a truce, Optimus grudgingly accepts and the cons leave earth back to what’s left of cybertron. This was retained in the novel and comic adaptions of the film but Michael bay likely changed the final product just to be more action packed cause that’s all he really knows.
