You guys did a 100% A+ job with this. Especially to build this with all of the contributing people in such short time. Every one of you to a man, whether on the Flo side or someone whom verbally shared did fantastic. The simple fact that all of you took time out of your busy day or racing commitments to do this speaks immeasurable volumes. It speaks not only to the memory of Scott. It speaks highly to who each of you are as individuals. There's a mourning period many of you should allow yourselves to go through. If you get hit out of the blue and feel a tear, or cry coming on.... let it come. It's what's going to help accelerate the healing process. I'm 60 yrs. old, am a heavy duty truck mechanic, biker, and raced many years. It took me a long time to realize that it's ok to grieve and hurt when I loose someone I had lots of miles with. Lord Bless y'all and thank you.
This made me cry and i dont get upset often. My first dirt race was the 2015 dirt late model dream, which was an incredible battle between him and davenport that went right down to the wire. Was hooked ever since. I was only around for the tail end of his career and even then he was a larger than life character.
I was lucky enough for a a while to live near volunteer, tazewell, smoky mountain, wise, and 411 speedways in TN and got to see bloomer win multiple times at all of them. Will miss his personality around the tracks. Black sunshine forever 🫡 🏁
Seen him race in the early 80's at Bulls Gap Speedway which was a local track for him. Seen him again at the dirt races a few years ago at Bristol. Honored to have followed him for over 40 years of wins and Championships.
I will never forget a interview with Bloomquist sometime in the mid 2000’s before a Race. Was asked who was his favorite Racers to Race against? He said Brian Birkhofer, Shannon Babb, and Chris Madden.
I remember watching Scott here in imperial California he went to qualify after running his laps and the anonser asked what is your hurry buddy? Cause he was always fast this was back in the mid 80s he was pretty young then.
BLOOMQUIST “RIP” ,my deepest condolences to all his family and relatives. You know my top two favorite drivers from Manzanita when they went to CHULA VISTA could never beat him. 🙏🤲✝️☮️
I Met Bloomer when he drove for Barry Wright, he stuck me as a unique dude, different than the typical race car driver, but there was no doubt the man could drive a dirt car. He was the dale sr of dirt car racing. IMHO. Absolutely the GOAT. RIP you will be missed.
i will never forget when he came down to Cherokee speedway and gave me a shirt, he was one of the greatest guys that I know, one of my favorite memories is when he had the no green light the look on his face was priceless. him also winning on three wheels was awesome too. RIP black sunshine #0 #18 he has made a big impact in the racing world and here on FloRacing
I am very surprised of Scott's remembrance. the guy must have been so awesome that everyone has to speak out that knew him. so great love it. he definitely made a difference not only on the track but in others lives
The first time I met Scott he was running behind schedule and he still made time to have a drink with me and share my chassis building experience with my Dad ( cotton top ) I was 15 and was one of the best welders in the United States Mr Bloomquist gave me the nick name of slow hand ! RIP Bloommer !❤
I subscribed to Chris Economaki's National Speed Sport News from 1974 until it ceased publication in 2011. Cant recall ever reading an issue where Bloom was not mentioned. Been following late models since Golden Gate Speedway in Tampa. He was a master of his craft. RIP Thanks & respect
Rest in peace, Scott. You were a true legend in the world of racing. Your talent, passion, and unwavering spirit will always be remembered. Thank you for all the incredible memories you gave us.
He was the Dale Earnhardt of dirt super late model racing in my opinion. Wether you loved him or hated him, you watched him when he was on the track. RIP Black Sunshine.
I've watched him since 1988 . Always liked him.. this is a sad thing, .. we can say now, that the Man had alot of things weighing on his mind and heart ... and we never know what others are going through. We all need to be more caring about others, never take things likely your friendships with others... always care about what others are dealing with in there life... IT WILL PAY OFF IN THE LONG RUN .
Talking about him showing up late. I have seen him more than once come in late unloaded pull straight on the track and win. I also agree 100% with Briky I think Scott may have gotten some not good health news and he wanted to go out His way.
Everybody keeps talking about what a great driver he was. And he was. But, it takes a lot more than just being a great driver to be as dominate and on top as he was. He was equally as good an engineer, crew chief, and strategist. RIP Mr. Bloomquist. The G.O.A.T.
He sadly joined Yankees catcher Thurman Munson, pro golfer Payne Stewart, NASCAR drivers Alan Kulwicki and Davey Alison as big time sports figures who died in their own private plane crashes.
Great show! All your fans prob already know this, but for those that dont go check out Dale Jr's interview of Scott from awhile back that he reposted yest - its awesome....................

One of the greatest dirt racers to ever touch a steering wheel. A lot of imitators out there but only one original and Scott was it. RIP BLOOMER
The guy was absolutely a genius.
The guy was an absolute criminal.
This man will always be at the top of the podium saying " you know you love me" and if nobody is talking about you you're not doing what you love!!!!!
Love him or hate him you can't deny talent when it shines like his. RIP racer
Bloomer we will miss you always. The sport will never be the same. RIP Bloomer.

People either loved him.or hated him but no one can take away his driving abilities and how many wins he has had.

Tyler Reddick followed Scott to many dirt tracks, when tyler was a teenager, learning Car Control.
I've been a Bloomer fan for years and thank you for the amazing insights !!

one of a kind, My thoughts are with his family
He sadly joined Yankees catcher Thurman Munson, pro golfer Payne Stewart, NASCAR drivers Alan Kulwicki and Davey Alison as big time sports figures who died in their own private plane crashes.
The black and white photo at the end of the tribute, the flag is at half-mast. Cool. Even old photos are paying respect.
