I am not sure how distinct this characteristic is but I notice that Cassia leaves have quite a distinct yellow edging. I have come to use that to identify the younger trees.
I'm not sure but they are an old fashioned laxative - kids used to be lined up for Sundays dose of senna tea. Not sure how it was prepared so be careful.
