@@AbdullahNyc you are right but these are the a320neo which does not go for a long haul distance to new york But IFE system should be added on a320neo flight because some of these flight will be for more than 3hr so passengers need some entertainment

Air India will be using aircraft such as this on domestic routes where they would be competing with the likes of indigo, Akasa etc. No point adding entertainment screens because it increases maintenance costs exponentially putting more pressure on ticket prices in a country that has so much competition. If anything, they could perhaps offer wi fi on the plane so people can access Netflix on their phones or browse the internet to kill time. On short flights like this, who needs full entertainment anyway..

16:15 Air India is adding Wifi based IFE in their narrowbodies. Some A320s, B777s and B787s already have that feature installed recently.
