  • so, in Texas, it's really hot, the truck is almost 10 years old and I never cleaned the evap. I wanted my good airflow back as well for overall performance. I did what I did! and I don't regret it. last thing I wanted to do was remove the dash. Personally, it's not a bad idea.

Hey Joel, I'm in Texas as well. I like your style...I just got this truck so I wasn't sure where I could cut, so I removed the fan and got in there as best I could.. Your fix is just what I needed. Thanks brother.
Do the two holes you cut give access to the "dirty" side of the evap coil, or is that the clean side? I couldn't tell from the video. I took a boroscope and looked at the "dirty" side, and I got to get that effer clean.

Where does the water drain out? Can you see the drain tube? Good stuff BTW ! I have all those problems and more. Including a cracked POS sunroof track parts.

Did this fix your airflow problem?

It helped, fun fact. There was a clump of foam restricting the floor to face door. That took a whole tube camera and a flexible grabber to remove small chuncks at a time. You wanna talk about a monster frustration

I cleaned mine as well it was quite dirty but it still doesn’t feel like it is blowing as hard as it should. Glad this heatwave in Texas is almost over
