Lovely ramble on the beach! Those cookies look easy to make and delicious to eat! "Carefully prepared" "purest ingredients" - from a stoneware jar of Boots The Chemist. Could be a "Confection Of Senna." I think, perhaps, 1920's?

I really enjoyed this video my friend and I will be visiting Lyme Regis next year so we might see you both. I have been watching Mudlarking videos since our first lockdown and another I enjoyed was Lucy's Larking Adventures. On her last video she said see you next week but that never happened, she and her husband Ryan live in Bath, I would like to know all is well with her and her family, have you heard anything?

It's a good 2 hour trip from our home but we do love it there so it's well worth the trip a couple of times a year... We noticed that 'Lucy's Larking Adventures' had stopped but have no idea why, which makes it seemed unplanned, as there was no announcement. There have been several cliffs that have collapsed in Eastern Kentucky this past year. Usually happens after a freeze or several days of rain.. I always enjoy watching your adventures and hearing about the history
We've had quite a few collapse in the UK too, and a couple of properties have disappeared as well so always best to be alert when beach combing. Great to hear how much you enjoy our adventures and the history too, thanks for watching 🙂😎🐼

What lovely colors on the beach! Beautiful glass and fossils, and pottery! I couldn't help but wishing I was there looking at all the colors of chert, jasper, agate and fint! I think I even saw carnelian and common opal as well! Oh I could lose myself in the surf! Thanks for taking us along on your adventure!

Noooo you left behind the pot or bowl. Maybe you should have dug it out to see if it was Roman, or handmade. Couldn't tell from here. Yes I was yelling like a fool for several things. Wow can't understand why there's engines on the beach. Parts from ships, yes. Parts of cars, no. Oh well. That beach gave up lots of fossils and glass! There's just so much there Jeriann, from fossils to scrap! All of it has been deposited on the beach as the sea has swallowed up more and more of the land, including rubbish dumps and properties... I suspect a few garages must have vanished during a high tide, which would explain the engines and quantities of scrap. Thanks for watching, and keep shouting when you see something 🙂😎🐼

Ginger snaps looked great. It's hard to get golden syrup in California but not impossible! I've had a go at making the biscuits but can't seem to get the consistency right using other recipes. I will have a go with yours soon! Loved seeing Lyme Regis.

Golden syrup is not as common here in the US as in the U.K., but it can be found in specialist groceries such as Trader Joe’s and some whole (paycheck) foods. Have a suspension it’s available on line via Walmart and Amazon. Those cookies look delicious Caroline!! My mouth is watering!!

Hello from Florida! Your cookies or crackers going soft or hard, depends to a large degree on the humidity. In California, generally low humidity (10% to 40%), if unsealed they will go dryer. In Florida, generally high humidity (45% to 100%), they will go softer if unsealed. We have to keep our cookies, brownies, etc in the microwave to prevent our two housecats from chewing thru the plastic bags to have a feast. They also favor baked potatoes, which we pre-cook to have fried potato wedges the next morning with our omelettes.
Wow, it's interesting how the humidity varies so much between the 2 states, and I must say, fried wedges and omelette sounds lovely, as long as the cats don't get there first 🐱😺 😀 Stay safe and thanks for watching 🙂😎🐼

I recently watched the movie "Ammonite" starring Kate Winslet as Mary Anning, a famous fossil hunter from Lyme Regis. They filmed the movie in Lyme Regis also. thanks for taking me there again. I love the sound of those waves crashing!

I'm with Caroline, I could just sit in one place for hours just digging and searching for treasures. I would find it very relaxing, I think it's because you are concentrating on the search and that occupies your mind. Nice stoney beach. 💞🕊️

Golden syrup sandwiches?! Reminds me of the condensed milk sandwiches my dad used to eat :D I think the fossils were my favourite thing. That copper hooky thing made me think of the ends of the ropes my dad used to use to tie down lorry loads. Well, it's been a busy couple of weekends (Eurovision with family last week/grandson overnight this) so I am missing my dose of live show but I'll be back next week so have fun!

I go here regularly for larking and fossil hunting. Last time I was up the small cliff and found some amazing Victorian bottles etc. Was a real treasure hunt. Happy hunting guys xx

I know in America, Molasses is used in place of syrup in making ginger cookies. That's what my gram used anyway.
Syrup here is more like maple syrup on pancakes or chocolate syrup, which speaks for itself and is good on almost anything 😋
