I have struggled with the line "You are enough, so I am enough" in this song because I could not understand how I can say "I am enough" when I know that I need God and that I am not good enough or holy enough on my own. But I realized something just now! I think about the times when I didn't feel worthy enough to be happy, to speak about God to others, or to do anything in general (just like how Moses stumbled many times after he realized that he had to confront the Pharaoh and was afraid because he was not a good speaker). In and of myself, I am not enough to convince people that God is alive and loves them or that they are sinners. Or even enough to deserve any of this love. But God's presence with me and in me as a follower of Christ ---- the loving acceptance that HE stretched out to such a sinner as me ---- makes what little I HAVE to offer *enough* to change the world! Moses was not enough on his own to perform any miracles or to be convincing with his own words, but his belief and dependance on God filled up the gap between what he had and what he could do! *God's power worked in him (and is working in us)!* Did the Lord not free the Israelites and use what little ability Moses had, combined with His greatness, to lead them out of Egypt and into the Promised Land? Because God is enough, He makes me enough to do anything in His name and He declares me "holy" because our Lord Jesus was more than holy enough to make up for what I lack! Hallelujah! YOU ARE ENOUGH, SO I AM ENOUGH LORD! Loaves and fishes guys! Jesus fed the 5,000 people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish because HE was there and HE was enough, not because what the young boy gave him was ❤️It is a constant relief that God isn't afraid to make up for what we lack ❤️
I've got to tell you as a musician of 15+ years having played with many of my friends and musicians of all kinds. As the world is right now and everything in between this song absolutely breaks me down into deep heaving sobs because it is so needed and so true and how do we get the rest of the world to see it to wash away the anger and the division. It gives voice to what is deep and buried amongst us all. As a believer, I admit to struggling mightily with the season because it is a season that is worldwide of dark anger, hatred, division, and everything else. The world has destroyed my ability to trust. As it is designed to do but I trust God and only God even in my anger I know what the truth is and whenever I hear this song I just sit and cry along with it because I know its truth. It is so hard right now to hold onto that for so many but when it's the only thing to hold onto it is so easy.
God is enough. He is the Alpha and Omega, Beginning and End. Everyone struggles. No one is perfect, but we have a perfect Saviour who died for us. God gave his son.
