Saw few minutes of this live video. I 100% agree with you on two points - 1: Children under the age of 18 should have minimum or no access to social media and limited use of mobile phone. In my family and friends circle we all follow this rule around the world; all our younger generation kids have limited use of cell phone for calling and texting purposes to their parents or friends related to school / extra curricular activities discussions / pick up drop off timings etc. only. No one is on social media & they dont have the time to even indulge in this due to their hectic schedules of school / extra curricular trainings etc. Most of us grew up with habits of spending few hours of recreational activity ever week doing some form of outdoor activities like hiking, tennis, swimming, biking, camping etc with family or friends & volunteering at a place of our choice for few hours every month was mandatory. We grew up learning life skills like managing finances, investment, becoming entrepreneurs at very young age in addition to our schooling / college education. Parents who allow young children into the world of social media are spoiling their own children's future; the same with parents who allow their children to spend hours playing video games etc. same outcomes should be monitored and not allowed according to me. All these restrictions are managed on the mobile devices through apps available to parents to restrict access etc 2nd pont : That student / teacher issue in Palakkad ; that youngster needs to be reprimanded for his behavior and it is such youngsters who are criminals in the making and could harm society more as adults. He needs to understand the consequences of his choices , juvenile systems are put in place for such cases & counseling should be given.
