Learned so much from this & your other TH-cams 🙏 Now I'll have to find someone who'll part with their old valves, so I can copy your polishing methods for my 1.8t 20V AJL B5 Avant. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺

I like the work done but when showing the work, it's very hard to see due to the camera shaking making everything blurry. Maybe a flexible tripod could be used or tilt the head up and then film it. See at 13:23.

    thanks for these videos.
im going to be trying to port my AEB head for the first time, and these videos really helped alot with things, for a first timer.

If you’re ever looking for a different kind of polish to use, try Hollywood’s Metal Polish. I worked in a boat shop back in high school and we would use that stuff to polish aluminum railings. I’ve used lots of other polishes since then (including rouge of various types) and nothing compares. It will take a 320 grit surface to a mirror polish in a couple passes. You can buy it on amazon.

Great content. Very informative. Do you still have the engine? How’s it running?

is there any issues with using a 1.8t out of a betttle?

Nice job. I’m assuming that you’re doing a later 06A fsi block, given the dowel pin situation?
Also, what are your goals with regards to this engine? A quick spooling street car? Top end highway monster?
    Just curious.
Keep the vids coming; they’re coming out nice 👍

No I'm using a 2.0l block and crank from an 8v engine. Yes it's a cast crank that is thought of as weaker but I don't think I will get anywhere near the limits of it. Not really going for a top end monster, that takes a lot of power, I just really like the gearing of the tdi gearbox, makes for an awesome highway cruiser and great on gas milage. However the gears are spaced pretty far apart for a gas engine so if you have too much turbo lag it will fall on it's face pretty bad between gears.

Linder Power Systems Nice, and I agree about the strength of the 8v crankshaft. There’s a lot of Brazilian guys putting disgusting power down with these 8v blocks/cranks.
I have an 01E trans/ 2.7t combo sitting here that I had intended to swap into my b5.5 4motion wagon, after a refresh ; though lately I’ve been leaning towards building a quick spooling 1.8t build instead, due to the current cramped confines of the 30v v6, which will only get worse with 2 turbos and charge piping. After recently doing the cam seals, and vcg’s; I was WISHING it was a 1.8t. They’re so easy to work on

@@ButtKickersReviews It is true, they are way easier to work on... But oh the sound and power of the 2.7t! I had a b5 s4 in the past and totally loved that car.. My buddy just picked up an s4 avant and I have an engine a chassis here too, so I will likely be messing with a those here soon.

Linder Power Systems I look forward to some 2.7t content 👍

Man i would love to know if that does make a difference ?? i know it prevents knock eliminating the high spots.. but i would like to know if does make a diference on torque and hp ? thankss

No, it prevents knock from happening earlier under high load, which allows for higher boost or more advanced ignition. In other words be less knock limited. That increases hp. Every little thing helps if you want to put the time and effort in

Like what your doing, I`ve learnt a lot.

Are you going to cc your combustion chambers after to make sure your static compression is the same?

    • @linderpowersystems_LPSFAB
      @linderpowersystems_LPSFAB  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I do have a CC'ing setup, but I've never been able to get accurate enough measuring out of it to measure as small of a volume change as most import chambers would have. If that makes sense... I'm pretty confident that all of these chambers are pretty close, I will be running egt per port though so any difference can be accounted for in tuning anyway.

@@linderpowersystems_LPSFAB yea I get that and good tuning can take care of a lot of small things. Videos are good and getting better your looking more ccomfort in front of it. Keep it up.
