Mighty impressive Tim. Don't know how they miss that its a wlp and that its not warped. They clearly spent time looking at it, perhaps glasses are needed. Side note...whoever took off the promo stickers did a pretty amazing job. I've never tried to remove those, not that I would want to, but a very clean job nonetheless. Good luck with that sale when you do it, doesn't seem like you'll need it though!
Oh and I wouldn’t want you to go to the trouble and endless stressful hassle of deciding on a buyer. I’ll do you the favour and take the RL off your hands 😉😂
Incredible story on the RL reminds me of the Sansui 8080DB receiver I found in a back room laying on its side for 200! Really happy for you! I usually don’t go on instagram but decided to retrieve the app back yesterday to check out the vinyl and instantly got hit with let’s say inappropriate material so I immediately deleted the app.? I think going forward I’m going to concentrate on the Led Zeppelin bin maybe I’ll get lucky 🍀 I picked up a H.H. Scott 299D Mint with all original tubes on EBay we met halfway in Massachusetts for the pickup I was amazed at the condition. Thank You
Over the last 3 decades I've owned countless LZ II RL's, maybe 100. Monarchs, Presswells, Columbia's, Capitols, German, etc. A Monarch white label is indeed quite rare. Most of the white labels I had were Presswells, but only one Monarch.
Steve Carlson also went to a 2nd & Charles where he lives and found some stuff as well. I’ve been to Broomfield one a few times but their (non) organization is so frustrating that I usually give up quickly hah. Always love seeing people finding a grail, especially when it’s so unexpected, congrats!
*HOLY $H!T MAN* Okay, that tears it, I'm comm'n up there and I'm gonna find you! All I hafta do is simply check all 500 record stores in the Colorado area... 😁
What great findings, good for you! I am enjoying your video while sipping a great Lavazza brewed through an excellent espresso machine, a Pasquini, over 14 years of excellent daily service.
@@Universityofvinyl Not cheap but priceless if you like espresso, latte and cappuccino. Build to last to a commercial standard and not that plastic junk sold in stores. It's the equivalent of a McIntosh, IMHO, buy it and forget about it but enjoy it every single day.
I do like the idea of a lottery system for chance buy an RL. Congrats on that Promo. Definitely be hard to be beat that find in the wild for a long time.
Wow! I've bought two VG RLs off Discogs, both were $225 which seems to be the standard price for a VG! Their notes said "plays like a VG+" but not in my opinion. Both of mine have pops throughout, not on every song but enough to ruin several tracks. I have to say I've heard many other albums that sound much better in every respect, to my ears on my system. I think you have to get a VG+ for an RL to shine, the music does not blow through the pops and crackles which fill in the space between the instruments and ruin the separation.
Congrats, Tim! Someone was crying in the comments on Steve's video about your pickup, saying you took advantage of em all this nonsense.. I told em that's on the shop, not you. How they could not know what a WLP is, especially when it comes to that album, yeah, I don't feel bad for em. 😅
Darkness on the Edge of Town is one of my favorite albums. I have a WLP, sounds fantastic. I also just discovered with have 2nd and Charles here in SC. Winning!
Fantastic finds! I myself came across two grails this week, and It's gonna make you a little sick, most likely. At our local hospice thrift store I found copies of Donald Fagen's Morph The Cat AND Sunken Condos, for $3.99/ea. I have never had a score like that, probably never will again.
Whoa, mixed emotions as they were at a hospice thrift. ❤️❤️❤️ Two beautiful albums to be cherished; Hoping Mr. Fagen feels compelled to share new music. If not, we have so much goodness from him.
Nice find - the key question is how different did it sound compared to your German RL and your other US RL pressing : that is what really matters. Tell us
thats a find of a lifetime .. thats easy a 2000$ record ...................................... the german half RL is knowen by now , u cant get them under 100 euro anyomore here in germany
Congratulations on the Zeppelin! I'll get in touch on Instagram. I never have heard the LZII RL and want to be the guy in my circle of friends to have it! I have an awesome 70s Japanese pressing and am curious about doing an A/B.
Tim what a find!
You can only pay what people ask/or not dependant on your view! You can hear that you are delighted with your pick up 👏

Tim, great job! You now have the best pressing (MO) that exists for the RL Led Zeppelin II. Frank

A great result Tim, a combination of research and perseverance!

I have the US 1977 AT/GP (George Piros) LP and it has a great sound, supposed to be the next best thing to a double RL (Robert Ludwig).
I also have a NM pressing of Led Zeppelin 11 1977 AT/GP (George Piros) and it does sound fantastic.

Ooooooo know about Pasquini's --- very very nice!

I'm interested in the Tracy Chapman debut album "lottery" whenever that happens Tim. Really enjoy your videos. Thank you sir.

Congrats, I've also found several of my personal grails in the last couple of months and it's been killing my bank account, lol
Congratulations on the big find! I just scored yesterday for $20, Stones uk decca 1st press Beggars Banquet. Your video inspired my luck!
Thanks, and congrats on your find!

Right time, right place. BTW, even though I have the Chapman but still am quite interested in the reissue. Hopefully, a Rhino Hi Fi at least.
Rhino HiFi would be awesome

Tim I like the idea of drawing lots? However I imaging y due to excise/postal charges are you restricting to US/Canada only 🏴
Yes, just too costly and risky in this case
@ understandable 👍
Record stores playing checkers and Tim playing chess.
Find of the decade? More like the find of the millennium! That Monarch is an RL on steroids.. an absolute monster pressing. Congrats on your find 😎
$200 is a lot of money but considering that is the led zeppelin holy grail. It was probably worth $800 to $1000.
Hey Tim- Wow! Truly amazing "needle in the haystack" find! I may be interested in your RL for sale- LMK. Thanks.
I hate you Tim.
lol just kidding buddy. SCOOOORRE!! Congrats on the worlds craziest vinyl find! 😎🎸👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks! 🥂
