Absolutely stunning gardens, will have to put this in my diary for next year, fantastic video, the Cotswolds are a beautiful part of the country, loved watching this .
Beautiful village and gardens. I love the Open Gardens Scheme, my garden loving friend and I plan out our campaign of what gardens to visit as soon as they are listed. Some are in the city and some involve a road trip as they're in nearby towns. It's spring here at the moment and the gardens are in that perfect 'English garden state' tomorrow we're off to see a garden that I, in particular, have wanted to see for a long time but it's only opened one day a year. Scheduling the open day so that both of us are free to visit and the weather is nice, (I'm a fair weather garden viewer, visiting in the rain doesn't appeal!) has meant it's taken a few years to get to this garden!
@@MagentaOtterTravels Great extensive garden, it's 4 acres so a lot of walking through different areas. It's spring so wisteria and blossoms were blooming. A few bulbs but most come out when it's still winter here so we got the end of the tulips. The nice thing about the Open Garden scheme is the owners raise money for local charities so the local village church provided the scones, jam and cream and soup for lunch for people to buy. All homemade and delicious and it's nice to know the money is being used locally to support the community.
Wow just beautiful. Love Stanton. We really do need to film a wander there. I fancy doing it in the winter. The gardens are awesome. Love the way everything is kept immaculate. By the way Tortoise not turtle. But I will forgive you. 🐢 I have seen that car at retro in Gloucester. I think Lagonda is a make in its own right. Really enjoyed seeing around these fabulous gardens. And you captured them very well. Warmest wishes to you both. Have a great weekend. 👍🏻🚶🏻♂️🚶♀️
Next time it snows in Stanton, you need to go film there! It would be magical! ❄️ Sorry about the turtle mistake! I'm getting a lot of scolding over that! I hope you are feeling better ❤
We always used to go to open gardens when I was a kid. My mum was just nosey to see how the other half live!!! They are lovely gardens there. Ah cute tortoise, don't let him near the vege patch though!! It is a pretty village. Love the lavender green house! We need to visit here as it's so pretty. Great video 🍻
What a beautiful tour! The owners have worked so hard and I’m sure they are delighted to show off these amazing gardens. Wonderful video Dara. ~Cara 🌺🌻🌸
A simply beautiful video, Dara, and great choices for your background music as well. It all fit together perfectly. You certainly had your share of magenta too -- so gorgeous. Thank you for this lovely tour of so many gardens!! 🐢🌺☺
Ian’s favourite village! I do like private garden tours. Lovely houses. Nice cover of rescue me by the locals. Ive had three copyright strikes of late using peoples covers, apparently that can be a thing now! Lovely tortoises. Magenta flowers. Wow a Lilly pond in your garden! Magenta shoes! Some amazing sights, pear trees, poppies, busts, just wonderful! Wow, there are roses and then there are roses, wonderful! There is some incredible work going into these magnificent gardens. We have some spectacular ones here but these are next level. Magenta selfie! Thatched roofs and figurines! Great tour 👍

You are getting growled have you noticed…it’s a tortoise not a turtle. So many make that mistake..you aren’t alone! Gorgeous gardens..loved the peonies Dara. So delicate. There is something so special about English ( read Cotswalds) garden and villages. Oh those ‘upright’ ducks. So funny to watch them walk. What a special visit. Lovely edit Dara. 👌🇳🇱🙋🏼♀️🥝🌺
Not only did the peonies match your jacket but matched your lipstick as well, although l suspect your lipstick actually matched your jacket! I am always so impressed by other peoples ‘ gardens, having no gardening abilities myself.
These garden days sometimes have 'judges' go round & judge the best garden, in a fun way. I wouldn't even know were to start on picking the best garden! Did you have a favourite? Ref your 'turtlegate incident', I always mispronounce tortoise & call them toytoises! Great vlog missus.
@@AnthonyValentine-vm1yc it would be hard to pick the best garden! I think in our group we each had different favourites. I liked the one with the pond and the willow trees and the huge magenta peonies🩷! Who knew that the biggest topic of conversation in my garden video would be the tortoise?! Lol
Hiya. I'm pretty sure nobody will have mentioned it, but it's not a turtle, it's a.... Dara! ... DARA! ... Stop! STOP hitting me with an INDIAN RUNNER DUCK! Pull yer 'ead in! Stay safe. All the best to you.
It’s a Tortoise!! Not a turtle! Tortoises sadly, have a tendency to drown if they go for a swim in water! But anyhooo, the two free range torties were lovely - my friend has one, he’s called Squirt 🥺, as he is allowed to roam feee indoors, he RULES the house! If a door to a room he wants to visit is closed, he will aggressively smash his shell against it until some kind “Hooman” opens it for him! 😄
Oh my days! They are quite some gardens!! Think they might have staff...! Can anyone tell me what the flowers are at 5:18 ? Utterly stunning and I definitely want some in our garden! N&Nx
Some of them definitely have staff! As for the colourful flowers at 5:18... I tried a Google search and Apple search and am still not sure! Maybe Cowslip or Evening Primrose? Sorry... I'm rubbish at plant identification! XX Dara
Did the door knocker turn into Marley's Ghost? KW 6670 - 1929 Lagonda 2 Litre Low Chassis Speed Model Tourer Sold For £100,240. Didn't I give lessons about the difference between turtles and tortoises in my aquarium video?? Fruit trees trained against a wall because it's just that little bit warmer. (Saw that on The Victorian Kitchen Garden). I'll bet it costs a few bob to live there.
I need to watch your aquarium video I guess! It is VERY pricey to live in Stanton. We actually have a friend who lives there though, in a lovely cottage! That door knocker always reminds me of A Christmas Carol! Wow, that is amazing about that car.
A turtle?? I don't think so! 😂My daughter and son-in-law have a tortoise named Jeremy - and he is a monster! He patrols the garden with far too much zeal 😱He is a turbo tortoise!

This open gardens concept is news to me! And how wonderful that the money goes to good causes.
It really is a great idea!
Good thing those gardens were open; they're gorgeous. Don't think we've ever seen a pear tree. Never apologize for an awesome selfie!
