Very helpful guide! One thing I'd add is that for Frontlines Roulette, you can queue in as Job A (that you don't intend to really play, or just want the XP on), and once you're in, job swap to ANY other appropriately leveled job to play the match, the XP will go the the job that queued, not the job that played. I get a good chunk of my leveling done that way XD
I PvP 3-6hrs daily, give or take. I appreciate this guide, especially, explaining things like "guard" as most new players find themselves not using guard or recuperate. At least in NA DCs, if a player is new and they say it in chat, people help them get through the fight in Front Lines or Rival Wings. I'd say, don't be afraid to ask in chat if you don't know how to use something. Most importantly, go to the Den and hit the dummies.
Solid advice there. I myself was not using faurd or recuperate when I began, so I felt it was useful to mention. The target dummies is a good tip. Especially just learning what everything does
Amazing short and straight to the point guide. Just finished post Storm blood yesterday and started my member. Frontline on the duty roulette has been grabbing my attention.
Ping can be an issue, however melee does come with practice especially since its not a stationary target like pve. I usually use my gap closers to keep me in range and on target. Though ff14 is very forgiving when it comes to targetting in pvp compared to a lot of mmos
It's jn the duty menu. With every other joinable content. And every npc along the way tells you how to join. You can't do pvp until you have talked to them, so I didn't see much reason in showing it as its the one thing the game actually tells people.
You don't have that slug fest in Guildwars 2...that's fun Pvp right there. In GW2, you have Blobs that are full of server-side cheaters that mo everyone and everything down in an instant. You "res" run back and get 'moed' down again. GW2 has the worst pvp ever made. Classes are complete unbalanced garbage. The "devs" even destroyed their Necro class on purpose.
I did WvW for the first time in GW2 on stream only a couple of weeks back... and it felt like had signed up for a torture kink. Though, I did basically level my neveromancer through pvp, which I thought was fun. But moved down is applicable here..
I like GW2 WvW quite a bit. I know your pain on the map blobs, but if you aren't a member of one, you do find ways to work around them, and back-cap the objectives that they run over. Its what i've been doing with my small band of guild mates for the last 12 years. However, i'm just now realizing that FFXIV has a PVP mode, and i'mma try it. I'm pumped!!
@geteavnroc2250 I'm just plain terrible at gw2 wvw, I just don't play it enough 😂 FF14 pvp is great, as its just standard modes, and easy to get the grasp of

I have heard of that, but I never bothered to try... when in relativity, it'd have saved me continuous heart ache when levelling a healer 😂
This smart mf
Thx bro!! 100% useful stuff!!! People did not comment because the guide was so good they went to play directly!! Thx again! 😊
As long as it's helping some one out, is allcthat matters to me! I appreciate it. Thank you 🤣
This helped a lot this game just landed on Xbox console so I’m excited to jump into the fun
If I can help someone out, especially our new xbox brethren!

While you can not teleport out of pvp you can use return to go back to base. This is most useful in rival wings to mech up.
It's extremely useful!

Thanks a bunch, How have you been finding it?
@@DyingLegacy Was going to try it tonight but DDOS attack all day unfortunately.
@@stormrunnercore that's very unfortunate timing
that going to help me sine xbox will be geting ff14 at some point this year
Damn right it will be, grtting ahead of the curve. Very nice! Glad I could help
Thanks!
Glad to help!
"Lower La-Nas-Ka". My dude, it's totally "Lower La-No-Sei-A".
You're not wrong.
Thank you!!!✌
Glad I could help out!
I still don't understand how people can play melee in pvp
The only I can play is ninja and paladin for some reason, my ping doesnt help me either

is it hard to level up?? i want to get the level 25 gear in pvp but i’ve never done pvp before
Questions does going to wolf by ship switch you pvp mode? How do we participate pvp only skills on dummy there or do just figure out in an random mode
You automatically switch to pvp mode on the island. There are dummies on the isle, everything pvp is there
I’m confused on how to start my other jobs i unlocked pvp but I need another job it says
You havw to do their respective quest. You'll find them all around the main cities
So when I try to join a pvp thing on duties it never actually gets me in to a match I’ve spent a whole day waiting on a match
People mostly do frontlines and crystal conflict. It can be very difficult depending on the time of day and day of the week for the rest of them
@@DyingLegacy interesting so does the level matter
@@leocreuu3254 The level doesn't matter
So I just hit lvl 30 and unlocked pvp. Do I not need specific gear?
Nope, no specific gear. Everyones the same level and gear level for it.
No on izshowi g how to stRt a pvp how to engage

I wanna know how to get the other currency’s besides wolf marks and crystals
To get the collars, you trade your trophies crystals to the wolf collar vendor
might play again but why did they remove the feast? how am i gonna get that badass armor for top 100?
Why it was removed, I am not too sure. But the rewards are being repurposed for the season system
@@DyingLegacy thanks man, hope the shadowstalker set comes back
@@andy-xz2uk You're very welcome! I wouldn't mind getting that myself
If I recall right (and I'm nowhere *near* my PC to check), they've added a current PvP mode along with where The Feast was to allow you to progress.
@@arcanadawn I think you're right, but I'm not near my pc either. So I may look at this after and reply back with what I find!
