It was great being able to swing over from the drift track next door and watch you guys race! Sorry about the luck with the Nova. I'm a big fan of dry sumps, so throwing a dry sump on it has my vote. If it saves you tearing up a motor. It pays for itself. If it saves you having to drop out of a big event somewhere far from home after making the trip, it pays for itself. That was my logic when doing one on my LS Miata after my first engine failure.
The Falcons first time down the track with the bigger turbos, and so on . Once it's tuned to its full potential, it's going to put a lot of cars on the trailer headed home

There was nothing to be ashamed of for a first hit on a brand new combination. The Falcon left hard as hell though but man Billy’s Nova got that big block top end 😮. The Falcon is gonna be fast once you get a few passes with it and start learning the new combination. Good luck to both of you throughout this entire season 🍀🫶

I worked in a race engine shop a while back and they built a lot of big blocks. There is no reason why a big block Chevy should lose oil pressure like is happening to you. Lots of people are running essentially the same combination and not having these problems. You will get it figured out.

There is no way with a little more tweeking any one will touch the falcon it has proved itself time and time again. Billy you have got one hell of a car aswell but the falcon always makes you and the family proud with Young Tommy at the Wheel .well done.
I can see them matching you two up quite often. Honestly, in these small events, its fair. The vehicles you have and the support you have. Others dont have youtube money nor do they have the connections. So TBH, matching yall first pair is best for everyone
Dry sump would be a good choice. Or atleast a vacuum pump if it doesn't already have one. We run both on our 485 BBC sled puller. We had similar issues running a wet sump system. One major issue was there wasn't enough oil drain ways in the Profiler cylinder heads and all of the oil would be in the top of the engine at the end of the track.
Billy hard as your on the big block, if your using cam bearings that are a shell like a stock design, its time to go needle bearing cam bearings...Alot of oiling issues are from that thin steel shell moving around...Does not matter ford chev ect....dry sump and oiling valve covers a must at that much power..Btw, thanks for the vid on a tuesday...
The falcon sounds good and it looks to be doing it without much effort.. get everything lined out and Tommy & the falcon are going to be serious competition. Definitely a great idea to have the same setup in your camaro and the nova, can swap parts back and forth if needed and your going to have lots of tuning information available..

Is it a wild thought to try asking Steve Morris about the oil pressure issue? Man's got a lot of experience with the big blocks, maybe he's seen an issue like this before.
Hang in there man it's the ups and downs of racing. Your plan seems pretty solid. I like the stick with the turbo idea. Don't give in to the ProCharger peer pressure turbos have carried you this far. But I'm just a random guy commenting on a video you do what you got to do. I almost forgot one thing the Falcon needs bigger turbos.
Glad the Falcon is basically doing well and with the Nova it could be worse. At least you’ve got a little time to get it fixed. Great idea on the same setup for both cars too🤙🏼

24:12 Billy. Sean in the OG murder, Nova went 490 with a 121 pro charger on his car. i don't know what that has for a motor anymore? I think it's a hemi, but I don't know, but anyway, the 121. You don't need a 136, unless you want 390's
Billy probably went that first round didn't Tommy say he went 5.18 so if so Billy definitely went min 5.0 something possibly into 4s now imagine way lighter car and better chassis but he doesn't have Murder nova money yet and those pro chargers everyone has said are extremely hard on parts

@@Sean-i4r oh I agree but the OG also has a 50,000$ engine or more which creates a bunch of power and helps out a bunch yes Billy will also have a decent engine but not that nice and he also knows turbos very well and with the tech getting better there finding ways to keep turbos spooled all the time and release pressure on the cold side which at that point gives you great throttle response when pedaling and such which is where procharger shines and having it spooled at full boost at line but slowly letting the boost into the engine as you launch with cold side wast gates yes you can do same with dome pressure on waste gate but you loose turbo shaft speed this way your turbo shaft rpm is already to go and you just control boost on cold side
For the untested falcon to be making good power is a good success, similar with the nova, just a problem you have already diagnosed and I'm sure the both of you will be better next time out, I can't wait to see both at a backside track and Tommy please don't be doubting yourself, you are in a completely different setup and imho, Billy didn't sleep, you were just better on the light... Hey Billy , my buddy's Camaro had the same issue with oil pressure on his BBC. Fixed it with a Moroso oil pan Part # 20385 it's not cheap but I bought one as well. My motor won't be ready till 3 weeks I'll be testing at Yello Belly. Trying to make April 12-13th @ JDs event @Yello belly 🙏 if you get a aftermarket block I'll donate my Ross pistons 5.611 bore for a 4.250 stroke and I have H-Beam Rods 6.385 all you would need is a block and crank bud both only have 20 passes with no power adder . You can have them it's the stroke you using now just bigger badder pistons haha they have gas ports as well . But get that oil pan and open up the back drains more plus only run 6 1/2 - 7 Quarts or 8 with remote oil filter housing. When that crank hit that oil kills HP known on BBC motors. This 20385 helps when you get on the brakes on the big end. Keeps oil control in back . Check out the pictures of it , awesome kick outs as well, has two drains already installed. Hope this helps man . Let me know on those parts .... Peace 👍😎 stay safe

just a thought Gen 2 turbo oil pressure regulators, not gen ones from turbosmart, there new ones are Internally Regulated and they don't bypass all the Access oil over 40 psi straight to the oil pan. It's like having a big oil leak with the old version. The new ones all the oil goes threw the turbo at 40psi and no extra volume dumped to the pan

I agree on the drain back issue, an accumulator would band aid it at the top. Always learning, better to learn early in the season!

If you go dry sump dont forget to put a switch or tune that shut ignition of when oil pressure drops if a belt come off

Great video looks like the falcon is flying and on a role with a new setup and and the nova is no slouch that's for sure but having your brother there and friends and family doing shit you both love I would say your winning every time regardless
just a thought Gen 2 turbo oil pressure regulators, not gen ones from turbosmart, there new ones are Internally Regulated and they don't bypass all the Access oil over 40 psi straight to the oil pan. It's like having a big oil leak with the old version. The new ones all the oil goes threw the turbo at 40psi and no extra volume dumped to the pan
I also think it’s probably just a better idea in general to do dry sump
