So glad I was around when the jungle scene kicked off in the UK back in the early 90s. Back then the sound of it was so futuristic, it was like listening to something from a different planet.
I’m just getting into making oldskool jungle tracks and it really feels so fun. Just designing pads is a blast. Chopping breaks and hearing it together. So dope
The world has, and might possibly never will, catch up to the drum & bass of the 90s. This is music for the future and for future thinkers not people who make music to be rich and famous.
Jungle is the song of my core. I grew up in the analog days. So privileged to have lived a generation change. Jungle was the new punk. Great video friend.
@@FlyCasual1 That's so sweet, what Apple were doing in the early 2000's with Logic and with the G4's was so special. I'd love to pick one up and get reacquainted.
Fucking ACE mate, subscribed. So good to hear people making old vibe stuff naturally, as opposed to so much stuff that just feels forced somehow.... This (and your other track) are the real deal, you can't fake that shit 👌👌👌 Respect mate! Looking forward to hearing more so notifications are ON 😉
Listening to this track made me speechless.... I'm from the time it all began....old. So i think I know when I hear a club banger. Btw i subbed after the intro.
That hardware is clearly not the star of this video Incredible tune, man 🔥🔥🔥 Take your time on the next one.. I'll be looking forward to playing it for my neighbours!😜
You are incredible. Giving me hope with the AtariST use. Here I am, thinking I'm out of date still running Snow Leopard with PT10. Dig it. I'm gonna get back to mixing. Great post!
thanks man. the best music was made in the 90's on all this gear. I was sick of all these daws and plugins, too much choice. I just wanted to go back to basics, how I started out. I find everything gels together better using hardware and on an anolouge desk, no drastic eq to make stuff fit.
Nice work! Also run on a vlz 1604, 3632, and some Akai samplers. Just a question on the 3632 and the mixer, are you running the compressor on the main insert/ output or on specific channels on the aux send/ return?
Thanks man. I've one side of the compressor going into channel 1 insert on the mackie, which is the first break, and the same for the other side of the compressor, going to channel 2 insert, which is the second break. I could set the compressor up as send and return on the desk, but I just like to compress the breaks, as I don't like everything compressed. I've the midiverb set up with send and return. Everyone is different, but I wouldn't link up a compressor to the main inserts. The way I look at it is, when tunes are mastered compression is used, too much can kill the flow.
@@ruffjamhardcorejungle same here, I have it running on send / return and my drums from the mpc 2000xl running through. I mainly do 4x4 / uk garage stuff. I like how it sounds on breaks.
It's linked from synths, sampler etc by midi to the Atari, then audio outputs from the synths, Atari to the desk. This track I sampled everything and chopped the breaks, sampled sounds and played them on the keyboard.

Still sounds like it's from the future!

This guy and his old school sequencing. Lol
hell yes, this is exactly what we need more of. more hardware tunes that aren't full amen breaks and aren't 1-3 minutes long :P. loving this, big up
This took me right back to 1994/95. Good times. Good tune too.
so refreshing to hear this, glad this kind of stuff is still loved, no amens all over the place, perfect
The good old days. Never grow old!
came here after the ColdFusion video on Atari. This is fire!
Artifact from a golden era of creativity. Good job.
The incredible thing is in 2022 people miss jungle like old music but jungle is new than techno.
Mackie 1604, my mixer of choice also. Absolutely outrageous tune too!!
I had a lovely setup years ago with this desk, a G4 graphite and pro tools card with Logic 4, exciting times!
@@FlyCasual1 That's so sweet, what Apple were doing in the early 2000's with Logic and with the G4's was so special. I'd love to pick one up and get reacquainted.
Sounds terrific. Proper oldschool biz. I'd be interested to hear that pss 780 in a production! ;D

Um verdadeiro e genuíno Jungle!
Um salve daqui do Brasil!
Thank you.
🔥...Can't believe I had an Atari and some outboard rack synths back in the day, but was just missing an Akai for breakbeats 🙄
Can't beat the akai for breakbeats.
First video, instant sub. Real Jungle right here!

Is there a digital release apart from youtube any where?
shiAttT!😎🤘😎🤘😎🤘
Those pads cut heavy
how much did all that cost back them? As learning how to produce this did you have to take audio recording classes to know how to set it up?
I done an electronic music course years back, but it never covered any of this.
With all this I learned myself.
minun musiikia Löytyy Facebookista.
What hardware and software you are use? And where you get this Old good samples?
Wicked stuff!!
Thanks.
what is the wiring set up on this mate ??? how is it all linked up? and did u sample all the sounds from vinyl

@@ruffjamhardcorejungle Can i email you mate I have a few questions im having trouble with .?
Put a stereo comp abuse on a bus for a NY comp ;p
Yamaha pss 780 under the desk ?
It is, used as a midi keyboard.
👍
Mad ENERGY ..Some give me a fucking pill 💊
This has a street fighter 3 3rd strike vibe to it...
one doesnt need the atari to make jungle just a old mixer and sampler
is all thats needed
(X) (X)
_____
How is this possible on a atari st?
By using midi with cubase v2.
What software is being used on the Atari?
Cubase v2
