- After years of playing local, small shows and washing dishes to make money, the 25-year-old Fort Worth native has become one of the most celebrated soul singers in years. Anthony Mason spoke to Bridges about his debut album "Coming Home" and his nearly sold out U.S. tour.

I usually don't enjoy pop or soul music, but saw him on Apple Music, figured why not give it a listen. Not sure why I like it so much (I'm more into metal) but I do.
I think you like him because he's an authentic artist. He's coming from a real place of passion. music like that defies genre.
I'm going to agree with Shady Grady on that. I myself listen to all kinds of metal, but this man Leon, hits home..real genuine. I hope he continues on this path as it may lead a new wave of music back to us. Songs that have meaning and lyrics to remember.

I'm an American 16 year old and I've been a big Oasis and foo fighters fan my whole life and I started listening to Gary Clark jr and fell asleep and woke up to Leon bridges somehow and I've loved him ever since.

The Future of R&B Soul...the genre sorely needs it cause there are a lot of hot garbage acts filling up the commercial Rhythm and Blues scene these last hand full of years. This dude is an instant classic. Hopefully he, along with John Legend, can start/continue to push the 'Soul' Genre
