      Hi Jenny how did you go with the transition from finishing nursing to going straight in to cosmetics? Any tips?

    Thank you for your reply felicity re: doctors scripts! Can I ask a follow on question regarding the same subject? When you first started your business how did you get a doctor to be on call for you for each client I’m assuming you had a small client base in the beginning) just so they could Telehealth your scripts for you? Or did you let the doctor know your upcoming appts for the week ahead and make sure they were available via Telehealth to do your scripts for you??

      Most doctors or doctors services for this will be ‘on call’ for you so no need to let them know your appointments in advance. Most will be able to answer straight away or call right back or have a back up doctor to call.

    How do you get around the fact that you need a doctor to sign your scripts when running your own nurse led cosmetic injectable clinic? Do you need a doctor to sign every individual script per patient?

    • @thefitinjector

      Hi Kimberly! We use telehealth for consultation & prescription with our medical team at each client appointment. Yes the doctor signs every individual script per client. 💉💋

    Any advice for someone in nursing school that knows they want to go straight into aesthetic nursing? I know you learn valuable skills in bedside, but if it’s your passion do you have any advice?

      Fantastic! As I answered in the video it depends how you want to do it - do you want to start by working for a clinic or start your own business initially? You can do training with a clinic who employs you or seek training providers for the initial skills 💉

    I am currently a registered nurse looking to go into cosmetics (in nsw Australia) when im searching it I can only find that you need to do a post grad in cosmetics before being a cosmetic nurse but based on your description this doesn't seem like the way you entered into it. I still want to do the post grad but can I start working as a cosmetic nurse before completing that?
    By your description you did the qualifications, did you do this through your employer before you started your own business?

      Fantastic! Having the diploma of cosmetics is not a requirement to be a cosmetic nurse currently, however, this may change as the legislation is changing a lot currently. If you are wanting to work for a clinic, find out what their requirements are for you to work with them. I gained all my qualifications and experience while working for clinic years before starting my own business.

    Hi gorgeous! Thank you for an informative video :) I’m a biomedical science graduate and was wondering if it’s possible to become a cosmetic injector without a nursing degree? Also what other possible alternative pathways to get into it? Lastly would a master’s degree in public health work?

      @@meeraaloush5543 Fantastic! So to be a cosmetic injector in Australia, you need to be an AHPRA registered practitioner with the ability to inject schedule 4 medications, this includes, Registered Nurses, Doctors and Dentists.

      @@thefitinjector Alrighty! So a graduate diploma in nursing won’t get me in? 😅

    • @thefitinjector
      @thefitinjector  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@meeraaloush5543 Enrolled endorsed nurses can do cosmetic injectables however they need to be supervised by a RN or Doctor which can be challenging finding work in the industry as most injectors work autonomously. Look up the AACDS website - they have a good explanation on this!
