Thank you for making this and replying to what seems like every comment! I’m a pretty experienced hiker who can do 14ers without needing to stop. But some people want to warn me about hiking this one, so I’ve begun a deeper investigation ahead of time lol

Amazing!!! Can’t wait to climb this in June, hopefully the weather’s dry then! Which route did you take? Was it the Pura Pasar or the Pura Besakih?
Should be plenty dry!! When we got rained out the first time it was Feb 😂😂 This is the Besakih route! Pura Pasar won't take you to the highest point of the summit!
@@EronEdwards hi I don’t know if u will see this but is it dangerous to go alone? Cause I’m planning to do it solo without any friends maybe with a tour guide.
@@lawrencelim1115 I reckon as long as you're in decent shape you should be fine! Either way it wouldn't be dangerous as there will be a fair few others on the trail so if anything happens you will have help! :) Good luck mate!!

Just did the hike last week, Besakih trail (which seems to be the one you went for aswell) and it was amazing. The descent was pretty sketchy and super slippery due to the very gravel-y terrain, but all in all it was a fantastic experience.
epic!! yes I did the besakih route as well, and ya it was muddy, and wet 🤣 - any troubles in arranging it? I know there's meant too be that new silly rule
@@EronEdwards your first time up seemed mental....rainy season, rain during the hike, mud etc. cant imagine that super slippery gravel even more slippery during rainy season. crazy.
anyway no trouble arranging it, but originally i was pushing for the Pasar Agung trail to the top (instead of just to the crater). They pushed back saying the last part of it was "too dangerous", and with incoming new laws it was also not advisable to do it. So ended up with the longer Besakih route - what a view up there, incredible surroundings and breathtaking sights.

Hello brother, really liked your video. I’m planning on doing this hike with my gf on the next couple days, did you find it hard to find the route or was it obvious the direction you needed to go?
Any other advise for climbing without guide?, the rainy season is starting so maybe it gets a bit more tricky, we think climbing it by ourselves makes it more special.

Id say most of it is pretty obvious! It's a bit trickier if you do it at night as we did, but I'd say doable forsure!

Sick! Would you recommend this hike to anyone? For someone who doesn’t really exercise all the time? What would you suggest to prepare for this hike!
I'd say most people could do it - but I don't deny it was the hardest physical challenge of my life! And we were all.. averagely fit? really hard to make a benchmark. Id say unless you consider yourself rather 'unfit' I'd say go for it! To train... climb big hills/stairs. Its 6 hours of very steep incline so just simulate that as good as you can!
@@EronEdwards Nice! Thanks for this:) Would you recommend climbing Mount Batur on Day 1 and the next evening climb Mount Agung? Means, no break, two mountains over 2 days.

If you're tight on time, and can only do one - Id highly recommend Agung! Batur is a classic tourist draw, literally 1000 people on top sometimes. Agung... well it was peak covid season, but there was maybe 50 people only! The intensity weeds out the less adventurous 😝
