not sure on that tbh. i just dont think this show can really get the depth of comedy with an English dub. they did a decent job for sure, but the language itself seems to be a limiting factor here. it just doesnt hit as hard in english to me
@@thunderbutt357XD Well, I was only speaking for this clip, I haven't watched the whole series in English. But I do tend to feel that the original Japanese is better in most things, but some dub stuff, like this, still hits the mark for me, especially tone-wise. He gets the *screeching* right.
@@minsungseungmin yeah u got that right, the tone in this particular case works. It's been a while since I've seen a decent dub, so I'll take it lol. Maybe it's how they do their voice acting that makes the difference
@@mystifiedoni377 I knew who was VA-ing Ronaldo, which is why it's hard to get bored with the dubs. Plus, thry really got Draluc's accent, which you can't hear in the subs.
His voice actor was truly happy when he got the audition, but his voice died during the audition dialogue, and he was worried about whether he would be able to play the role in the show.
i remember pausing the whole ep when ronaldo spoke, "celery, go home! go to hell" in the jp dub cause it was so funny 😭 took me like 2 minutes to recover LOL
I still think japanese dub is the superior one, but english VA’s make amazingly good job, I’m not used to good english dubs.. I like Jun Fukuyama’s low voice on Draluc more, but that line ”crying over a celery now, are we?” was pretty fun 😂
It something about the Japanese actor using English word in that way so hilarious or cool Also Both are pretty good but I prefer the sub on this scene 😂
Ronaldo? "Shut up! It's poison! Might as well be nuclear waste, since the smell of it makes me wanna puke. I can't even look at it. I'll die if it comes near me. Celery you can go shut to hell!" (not sure of the last sentence)
For this anime, the English dub is much funnier than the subbed version. I don't think the Japanese dub has a vampire accent for Draluc. That makes a big difference when you watch the English dub. The jokes are also translated better in the English dub than the English sub.
Translator Katrina Leonoudakis shared the same thoughts: *she wants to watch it in dub since the subtitles are so very literal - up to the point that it's not funny in English.*
I don’t dislike either but the “celery go home, celery go to hell” suddenly spoken in English in the Japanese version is so superior
Japanese and English, both voice actors absolutely killed this. Both make me laugh SO hard.

I pray that FuruMako and Ian’s voices are OK after that scene
Agreed.
Yeah. The JP one is compelely bizzare.
日本のロナルド、古川慎さんの叫び声が最高に好き😂たまにここだけ繰り返し見ることがありますw
Japanese sounds funnier when he randomly speaks in Engrish lololol, but both sound good. Hetalia quality dubs over here. ✨
They're both good but "suddenly speaking in English" makes the Japanese so much funnier.
It's a matter of POV
@@barrickfischer I can agree with this. But just getting the scream down makes the dub VA top-tier.

0:04 - Honestly, I don't blame Ronaldo...If something like a vegetable like celery comes to life like that...I would burn my house down.

I actually like Draluc's english voice, it's like one of those stereotypical voice for vampires in western media and it was perfect
just a small note :
i honestly wait for the episode to end and hear THE VAMPIRE DIES...IN NOT TIME, the way it is spoken is just pure gold.
Same vibe as Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou. I can’t help but say the name in the same tune.
it cracks me up everytime i hear it
its always rare when I find a anime that has both good sub AND dub lol
What about Soul Eater and High School of the Dead?
@@CBMOA like I said it's rare
His screaming are like music to my ears
英文字幕だと「落ち着け」のとこ"calm down"なのに英語だと"Relax"なんだな
Telling someone to relax is to tell someone to 落ち着け
As someone who's actually allergic to celery, I understand his hatred towards it.😅
The funniest scream he made was when draluc dumped a vamp celery at him while taking a bath. I didn't know Magna's (Black Clover) VA was used here

吸血セロリ
I feel like that's my reaction whenever I see a roach.
Reminds me of my big bro who a total chicken wuss with roaches too. He'll even hide behind me when he's asking me to kill it 🤣
This anime is super underrated
I would scream like that too if for some reason my celery has legs and antennae
It’s alive!!! Alive!
Oh my god it's Ian Sinclair!!!!! THE GREAT SOUL KING HAS GRACED US WITH HIS PRESENCE!!!
I have no idea how this ended up in my youtube recommends but I'm not complaining.
Furukawa Makoto 😭😭😭
The cursed insects combined by Celery, maybe is the end of world..
This is my first introduction to this show
Both are good but sudden the sudden transition from Japanese to English is just too funny, maybe if the dub make Ronald speak in other languages...
I'm so scared for his vas' throats 😭😭

As someone who hates celery... Same homie, same
makonyan's scream sounds more natural to me lol
I can’t help but wonder if Ronaldo had a bad experience with celery.

Ian Sinclair dubs Ronaldo The Vampire Hunter.
Oh yeah I already seen the show and it was pretty good and the already-announced is season 2 of this early on just like komi
I love Ian lol 😂

If you hear the difference of celery from this point haha🤣🤣🤣🤣

me gustaron las dos jaja, aunque en ingles al parecer tuvieron que hablar mas rapido
Kind of weird; but does anyone else think the vampire celery is kind of cute?
Not as cute as John the Armadillo, though!❤
Japanese Albedo from Ben 10 🤣
Yep
I am in this stinking human body constantly craving chilli fries and scratching in weird places I dime inappropriate

ok, I like Ronaldo's dub voice... but I can't understand Draluc in this instance.
Frank Todaro is a very talented voice actor from what I've heard of him but god will I always hate dub Draluc's voice. It just sucks so hard :')
ok im switching to the dub lol
he kinda sounds like space dandy
I think it the same dub voice actor for space dandy
what the heck ? a good dub ? are my ears wrong ?
How will the screams sound in Spanish?
英語の吹き替えw
Okay but imagine if in the dub they started talking in Japanese for no reason 😅😅😅😅

I get celery isn’t the tastiest vegetable. But the screaming is a little much.
for me once i saw the legs and the tentacles on it, it really gave me a jump scare also since i am scared of bugs hahaha
I see
Ronaldo is pretty much a drama queen
He is indeed that
I prefer the English
