    12:06 According to Lynnette's vision story, she actually got her vision the day she almost lost Lyney on a mission. They were almost caught stealing incriminating evidence for the House of the Hearth, and to save them, Lyney hurled himself and Lynnette out of the window into the ocean. He took the blunt force of that fall and lost consciousness, almost drowning, but Lynnette was able to swim them back to the shore and keep them both alive all night until Arlecchino found them.

      I don't know about other element but I know about 2.
      1st. Anemo users have will to protect(himself or other)(not necessary past should be sad, you can have that will without losing someone too).
      2nd. Pyro users want to become like someone or achieve something(particular).
      If any others have any idea then comment, also those will doesn't mean it's their only wish in whole life but it is their strongest will which had reached heaven.
      One more thing vision is granted for another thing as well unlike will or ambition,
      Even Raiden hinted about that but didn't say .....- It relies on ambition and… well, there’s another part to it too.”
      and that another part is fate, Even if you don't have any particular will or ambition but if you have gone through something which makes your fate unique(in our view important characters for stability of Tevyat) then celestia itself will directlly grant an order for vision to archon give that vision.

      best example for that would be Lisa

    Xinyan Father scammed her, sure. But Bran and chat probably forgot the point that story was trying to convey during GAA. When your "little" child is willing to go out of the house alone because she cared so much about the childhood story she knew. In that sense that "scam" was done not to scam her but rather to calm his child down and stop her from wandering alone in search of something she wouldn't find.
    So i can agree with the theory the guy came up with. It make sense when you dont take everything too literal and try to see the underlying philosophy.

  • @iBankai1995
    @iBankai1995 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +170

    @12:44 - No, that's not the Point of "just lose someone close to you". The point is their whole identity to the character. Liney would be nothing without Lynette, Jean would be nothing without Varka and so on. Not only is there a legacy to be added, but it's more like Emotional attachment to those they lost. Diluc would still be the same if he lost Kaeya or what not, because technically his identity as a Winemaker would not change in any form or way IF Kaeya would have never been there in the first place. Same goes for Kuki Shinobu, her whole and sole identity doesn't revolve around the Arataki gang, much rather she found some people with the Arataki Gang that she can vibe with if that makes sense. Now ask the question about Lynette, Jean and even Sayu: Who would they be if they didn't had the people around them and if they would potentially lose them? Jean would probably never be the Head of the Knights of the Favonius, if not even BE in the Knights of Favonius, Lynette would still be roaming around the streets of Fontaine with no direction whatsoever, Sayu would sleep somewhere in Inazuma etc.

    • @flyingcow5235
      @flyingcow5235 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +20

      i get what you're saying but i kind of disagree. if the arataki gang didn't exist, kuki would be stuck as shrine maiden. she was able to escape that fate by joining the gang. same goes for other characters like dori. dori's sister died of an illness because they couldn't afford to buy the medicine. dori then made her goal to be rich to never face problems like that again. if it weren't for her sister, she'd probably still be poor. amber became the outrider because of her grandfather. that's just my opinion

      Hydro makes a lot of sense too, but I don't think it's quite right. A lot of people have noticed connections between the hydro characters but there's something that doesn't quite match up about it and I'm not sure what that is. Maybe someone else has a better idea
      I like Geo too, and he's not the first one to notice that, but Noelle still doesn't quite work. Steadfast goals or motivations also works as all geo characters have dedicated themselves to something, but there's some characters outside of geo that could potentially fit that as well

    Firstly - props to this guy for making this theory video. Regardless of whether this theory could be true or not, accurate or reasonable or not, I REALLY enjoy these videos cause of the discussion it sparks. Genshin's lore has been incredible and deep thus far and because of these, the community wide discussions are not only fun, genshin's lore deserves it as well.
    As for the initial theory - I think he's on to something. SURE - some connections he may have found between the vision holders MAY be a bit far fetched, but I think it's only like that BECAUSE they're specific. Just like in the case of Pyro, once you look from a BROADER perspective of "passing the torch" instead of "inhering family business", the connection starts to become more and more evident.
    And since a human's thought processes and connections are VERY complicated and may justify MULTIPLE possibilities for a vision, I think the vision they end up having is the DEFINING feeling or act or personality alignment of that character. A geo or an anemo character, for example, may ALSO have an internal feeling of "picking up the torch" from someone close to them but it is not their DEFINING feature - only their STRONGEST feelings that reach the "gods" determines which visions they end up getting.

      The characters from the comic that are translated as "Murata" translate to "Mu-Natlan" and have no similarity with the characters used for Himeko Murata's name. This theory dies in the first five minutes, because Iansan is almost definitely the Archon and Natlan people dont have red hair.

      @CircusFoxxo 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kay.009 It's not "different spelling" they're completely different. What he's quoting is a comic from before the game was released, making it secondary media at best and extremely shaky on canon grounds. The Chinese characters that Venti says translates to "People of Mu-Natlan" not Murata.
      With Sumeru and Inazuma; Raiden and Narukami are names of the Shinto god of lightning, and Ei's E skill creates the ring of daiko drums that Raiden is associated with. Nahida is named after Anahid, one of the primary deities of Zoroastrianism, and her Constellation of Orismadis is a Persian variant of the chief deity's name, Ahura Mansa, the King of Wisdom.
      Iansan is named after a god associated with war and other concepts associated with the Pyro Archon derived from the mythology of the Yoruba people of Nigeria/West Africa and appearing in Afro-Hispanic-Caribbean practices such as santeria, which is what Natlan is based on.
      So... "Someone who isn't even mentioned once and is only alluded to in a non-canon comic is the Pyro Archon" and "there's nothing that implies [a character named after a deity from the culture that Natlan is based on and is associated with the same concepts as the Pyro Archon] is the Pyro Archon"

      This is not how Allogenes works. Allogenes do NOT become gods/archons, they ascend to Celestia and are taken there forever in some place similar to a prison. This is stated by Venti himself and we can see that the Celestia which Allogens enter after ascension looks like a prison and a giant door closes behind Alogenes preventing them from leaving in manga, as well as the fact from lore that not one Allogen has ever returned after ascension.
      Why is this misinformation going around inside the community with the fact that Allogens can become a god or an archon, when nothing has ever been said about it and even on the contrary refuted this theory at the very beginning from the same source that people came up with this theory?

    I think it's also important to note that Neuvillette said Capitano 'threw his hat in the ring' and that phrase is usually used when someone enters some sort of competition/contest/challenge and that competition may be the fight between various tribes/parties for the pyro archon throne and of course, the pyro gnosis (which is what Capitano wants in the first place). Not to mention, Capitano is considered incredibly honorable so he would be more likely to enter an official competition for the gnosis instead of stealing it outright

    Celestia would have no f'ing problem with it, because the seat of the pyro archon is still there. Ei stepped up after Makoto, Nahida came after Rukkadevata and Focalors took over after Egeria. Succession of the archons is a thing, as long as their throne is still there. And that's because it's not about a single individual being the archon for ever, it's about there always being someone to take the elemental authority in the name of the heavenly principles so it doesn't go back to their original owners, the dragon sovereigns. And destroying this throne is hard, Focalors had to deceive and gather energy through her people's faith for 500 years for her to be able to do it

    @StarlightAnamnesis 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +39

    Just a few points I found most interesting and decided to share my thoughts...
    12:40 I think what they mean to say is that the fear of loss is so severe that it reaches the heavens hence why an Anemo Vision is granted. It's similar to how anyone can wish for freedom but only those who truly feel that almost desperate desire to attain it would be seen as worthy by the heavens to be granted a measure of the Archon's power through a Vision. Just because everyone feels that fear of loss does not mean it is on the same level of desperation or even tenacity. There are those who grieve to an extreme extent and those who can stay hopeful enough to heal in a matter of months.
    15:30 As for Dendro, I think it is more of how a wiser character is what inspired their ambitions so strongly-similar to how Greater Lord Rukkhadevata affected Nahida's life so much that she had been sealed for 500 years simply because the sages either could not accept her as the new Archon, or took advantage of her predecessor's disappearance to take power. I doubt Diona has had such an adult figure in her life when she looks down on them for relying on wine, hence why she is at odds with her dad.
    22:20 The "lie" is similar to how you never need a secret ingredient to be great (reference: Kung Fu Panda), I think. Xinyan's music was widely unaccepted and she must have been seeking a way to have it be recognized, so her solution was a magical spring water that grants her a very great voice. Her father must have given her that fake spring water to make her be more confident with her voice, and later realize that it was all her who did great-not some spring water that gave her a beautiful voice.
    30:50 The answer is pretty simple. The archons don't talk about it because they do not interfere with each other's governance. The Sakoku Decree was only mentioned by the time we got to ask Zhongli questions, just as how we only know about the Rite of Descension when we were leaving Mondstadt. According to the theory, this fight for the Pyro Archon's throne has been tradition since Murata's time which means it has been ongoing for at least a thousand years; and as we know, people HAVE been talking about it. This was the key info Neuvillette told the Traveler, that Natlan has become an endless circle of war. He never specified about it being a fight for the throne, but the point stands. It even makes sense why Capitano is there to participate, to attain the Pyro Gnosis. And I think, with Vennessa being a child of Murata, that is why Varka is leading the Knights of Favonius on an expedition in Natlan-maybe even for this "pilgrimage for a wish" alluded by the gemstone. As for Celestia, I don't think they care as long as the nation is staying in its lane rather than defying the order of the Heavenly Principles. They did not interfere with the Sakoku Decree, or even the fact Ei was building puppet bodies as long as it did not steal power from the Primordial Sea to give life like Egeria did. In their eyes, this fight for the throne in Natlan is just a natural order that does not disobey the Heavenly Principles so they don't need to interfere. Celestia ain't even nuking Snezhnaya for collecting Gnoses, but it is argued that they are currently weakened from the Khaenri'ah Cataclysm so maybe that is also an excuse for why they are not intervening with the Natlan situation even if it is escalating.
    37:00 I would argue that the theme of duality is more prominent on Archons who are not the Original Seven. It started with Raiden and continued up to Furina. Venti and Zhongli are the only ones left of the Original Seven, which made their theme more direct-simply aged gods who wish to let their people prosper without the need for their intervention. Venti IS the sprite but took on his friend's face as a remembrance, and I suppose in a way, immortalizing his friend as the rightful person to receive the title of godhood with him as proxy.

    • @StarlightAnamnesis
      @StarlightAnamnesis 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@Lord_Genesis_ Your English is a bit confusing to me so pardon me if I misunderstood something.
      I know about all that. The points of my comment follows up on Bran's arguments and discourse regarding the theory. His point regarding the factors to specific other elements (like the fear of loss in Anemo for certain users who did not necessarily "lose" someone) is that those factors can still hold to other characters. Other allogenes can still hold that will to protect even if they are not Anemo, for example, and I merely touched up the point that it has to be stronger to align with Anemo. It's like an elemental affinity wherein everyone can wield them in theory, but it takes a specific kind of trait to perfectly align with it.
      As for the thing about it not just being about ambition but also fate, Lisa's situation is a bit abstract. At some point, she was implied to just as ambitious for knowledge but she was enlightened by the truth of its price and thus abandoned it. She gained a Vision because she had thought that it would be convenient, and that thought stemmed from her pursuits at the time. While it's true that fate plays a part since playables are attached to constellations, I also think it is Celestia's way of commandeering fate in general so that any allogenes that hold potential to rise to godhood will have a leash which Celestia can pull for their own convenience.

    I think that Diluc has some relation to Natlan. He’s the only Pyro character with that incredibly red hair that we’ve seen in the entire game. His father, Crepus, has red hair as well. And their names coming from ‘Diluculum,’ the Latin word for early morning, and ‘Crepusculum,’ meaning twilight… both of their names have something to do with the sun, which in most stories is the primary source of ‘fire’. That is a bit of a reach, but also consider that the Children of Murata have red hair. Diluc may at least be distantly related to Natlan. After all, his burst, called ‘Dawn,’ is a phoenix. And given, we don’t know much about Crepus either outside of Diluc and Kaeya’s stories about him, and possibly just little bits in pieces. So I’ll be keeping my eyes out for any Diluc lore.

And there was (so far) no reaction from Celestia to Focalors literally destroying the seat of the hydro archon and giving back the stolen authority to the dragon sovereign, so it could be that something has also been keeping Celestia not involved for the past 5 centuries? Also I liked how they pointed out the idea of a potential contest arena or something, because Neuvillette said Capitano had thrown his hat into the the ring or something like that, which is interesting wording. And recently Ashikai joked on one of her streams that this would be about the time in an anime where we would have the tournament arc, which is just hilarious

Lynette managed to pull him to shore.. but immediately the thought of lyney dying and her be my alone AGAIN.. cause serious ptsd and flashback to being alone again with the rich guy who was about to have sex with her forcible .. BUT she overcame this trauma thus was able to STEEL herself and drag/carry lyneys to the randevu point.. and then she passed out and her vision came to her… had she not over come this trauma both her and lyney would not have escaped to safety… her WILL power prevent lyneys death from injuries and both being caught

    About Lyney and Arlechhino, yes Arlechhino does sound like a far stretch, but even if we exclude Arlechhino, theres another candidate : Cesar. He took in lil Lyney and Lynette and taught them all about magic, which why they are who they are now. Passing the torch, again.
    Chevreuse, as we see, has succeeded his father Donatello's job and joined the Gardes, Captain of Special Security and Surveillance Patrol.
    Then Ga Ming's whole storyline is almost entirely around his family, father in particular who disapproves of Ga Ming's career. Even though Ga Ming took upon Wushou Dancing as his main career which his dad Yip Tak didn't expect, it was still Yip Tak who introduced Ga Ming to its beauty in the first place.
    So even if its vague, it sort of makes sense?
    And about the archon, we do know that its the nation of dragons, so maybe the passing of the torch 'could' be describing the Fire Dragon Sovereign to the Archon? Who might possible be male. Or maybe smth like what happened to Neuvillette, if the Dragon Sovereign there IS tbh Phoenix like, then it could rise from its ashes and "regain" its throne, maybe after fighting murata. Also Mayan history does mention two hero twins defeating the evil parrot like bird because it was an imposter of a god? (Sorry i forgot their names ;-;) or there's the feathered god Quetzalcoatl (by the Aztecs, also worshipped by Mayans but it had a diff name) although its GREEN. Then there are gods of specific tribes, like Huitzilopochtli (the tribal god of Aztecs) so maybe its rather other lesser gods striving to attain the position of archon.
    Capitano could also possibly symbolize Spanish invasion there, but idk 🗿

    My own interpretation of the visions:
    Anemo - loss, of anything that will impact a character enough. Loss of a friend would logically the hardest which is why anemo is associated with dead friends. And after that loss the want to change or move on must also be present.
    Geo - strong ambition to achieve something, steadfastness to a goal or trait (loyalty etc)
    Electro - the wish for themselves or for others to stay the same, inability to move on or change, or a stubborn goal (it’s kinda similar to geo)
    Hydro - obligation or responsibility, to have a duty that needs to be fulfilled
    Pyro - passion for something
    Dendro - a curiosity or thirst for knowledge, to know of the world or a specific topic
    Cryo - contradiction whether within themselves or their circumstances
    That’s what I’ve gleamed from comparing characters
    Loss does not mean death, Jean mourns the loss of her family bonds. As her parents divorced when they were young and she was never able to build a sisterly relationship with Barbara. As for lyney, when lyney and Lynette were on a mission, lyney almost died and Lynette got her vision just as she thought he had died.
    Lyney is actually Arlechinno’s successor. He will succeed her if she dies and would fit with all the other pyro characters so it does indeed make sense

  • @whitepearlreaper
    @whitepearlreaper 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    For Jean, I think Barbara actually suits the loss better. They're reconnecting now, but in their parents divorce, Jean went with her mother and Barbara with her sister, and they grew apart. There's a reason they're shown to be awkward around each other, because for so long they were separated.

    Okay so if this Theory is true, then think about the similarities between Bennett and the Character that was leaked by Genshin. The Fact that they're both most likeley to be the only People from Natlan that have white Hair makes me think that they could be the descenders that originally have to fight against each other to earn the title of the Pyro Archon
    Of course i could be wrong because Benny is currently in Mondstadt but nobody knows a thing about his biological parents so im 80% sure that he is from Natlan.
    Also we have never seen a single NPC from Natlan and that could be because they all get cursed once they leave Natlan wich also leads to my Theory that Bennett is from Natlan. In the official Manga something about a Blessing that the children of Murata recived was mentioned. So what if that Blessing actually is a curse? A curse that says if you stay in Natlan, you will be strong/lucky/etc. but as soon as you leave it will become the opposite (weak/unlucky/etc.)
    But i could also be wrong lol

    To directly awnser your one question Bran, Celestia just doesn't care
    There's plenty of other existing archons who weren't the original Archon and there's 2 archons one firmer one current who are plotting and have plotted against Celestia and there's still been no reaction from Celestia so why would a battle of succession of all things make Celestia get involved when they aren't even bothering with existing direct threats
    And the other part of this awnser is because it's Natlan, we don't know much about Natlan at all so it just makes sense we wouldn't know of a succession war that's been going on forever unless hoyo wanted to tell us 😅

Well, the archons have thus far pretty much remained in their own nations in isolation, Celestia does nothing currently towards anything and probably has done nothing since cataclysm and... well, outside of natlan... even we have not met any Natlan npcs because of the civil war, Liben does not go to Natlan even! And we don't know how often this potential cycle of choosing a new archon happens and it probably is something sacred that is not discussed to outsiders and only passed down as oral tradition among the tribes.

    Anemo's case should be something akin to longing for someone. Not just because of losing someone to mortality, but Lynette lost her brother when they were kids. That desire to be with her brother and be united with him might be the case. For Jean, it holds true too I guess. Without Varkha, it's likely a burden far greater than her shoulders. She must be longing for the Grandmaster to return. Partings as well as farewell might be the trigger for anemo visions. But the most important topics is, "which insane women had the wild idea to sleep with an illuminated beast to have birthed Yanfei?"
