Great advice, wire or tack weld! Just had my second front diff blowout due to them backing out. Still love the locker though, obviously my bad for not doing so. Lol. Great vid man, The Honda is deadly bud.
I vote wire. Just because you never know. You may blow that locker out on some big meats or from an oil seal leak and it would suck to have to break out the grinder to crack her open lol.
I need to know how the clutch assembly is disassembled. Our company is engineering a new plate for a part that commonly fails. Cannot find a tutorial and the manual says to just buy a whole new unit… super helpful. Let me know if you know info or sources.
Yeah it's pretty clear from the manual that's how they install them at torque lockers. However I really wanted to inspect and Grease that coupling and I'm glad I did
I was wondering if you could explain more on the 4x4 system on a talon you said there is a 4x4 over drive as well as i4x4 what is the difference between the two
I have 32 System 3 XCR tires on my Fox live Valve and have had no issues with the i4D turning them. Maybe it makes a big difference with having portals on the talon. I see a lot of people doing the bypass for the Talon. Can you explain the difference of putting this locker in versus just having the I four-wheel-drive bypass.
Awesome vid man! I am down in your neck of the woods and about to install one of these in my Talon on 44's. I'd like to talk to you about your 38" vs 44" tire experience. You ever hit RR or just Holopaw?
Been following your video to get my diff out and install the torq locker. Currently at the point of the snapring lol. Did you slide the diff forward a little before removing the snapring?
I have the talon 1000x4 and sometimes when I get in mud the traction control kicks on and boggs the bike down will the 4x4 bypass fix this or is this something you have dealt with also?
You deserve a medal dude, that looks like it was a pain in the ass

Can't believe u got those snap rings with the floorboard in but I have a skid plate that I would have to remove...super good job, good video
Thanks for explaining everything so well

you can leave the driveshaft, and just remove the 3 bolts to seperate the clutch from the differential. lot easier than messing with the driveshaft

@@MudPuppyOffroad i dont care for the roll pin in the rzr's, but the talon driveshaft clip is a joke imo. could have came up with something better
@@allmoto9707YEA RZR could’ve came up with a better idea and not have a belt
They make pliers for those rings. Basically snap ring pliers with traction duck bill ends
Yeah I need some

Great video, ready to get mine in!

Nice job. What are you using for Jack stands? 😮😮
What did you use to seal the front diff?
Where did you purchase your torq locker from

So. How good is the Pioneer 1000 front diff then? Seems like the superior setup. Can no one replicate the internals of that setup in the OEM case?
The Pioneer front diff is excellent but it's very different from the Talon as far as how the axles plug in because the Talon has abs rings on the cups
Been following your video to get my diff out and install the torq locker. Currently at the point of the snapring lol. Did you slide the diff forward a little before removing the snapring?
You don't have to mess with that just take out the three 10 mm bolts and leave the actuator in the frame connected to the drive shaft
I removed mine because I wanted to grease my spines
@@MudPuppyOffroad sent you a message on FB
Bunch of people saying the driver side axle isn’t going all the way in, I can see yours is the same case. Has it leaked any?
I did notice a slightly bigger Gap hasn't caused any issues or leaks
What size portals
So did you replace the i four wheel drive switch with the hess switch to active the torq locker or are you still running both switches
If I wanted to I could get rid of the i4x4 switch now. I will probably leave it as a backup though
So did the dealer take care of the renegade issue
Yes
Have you heard about some switch that locks the i4wd with talon factory diff? Apparently replaces our factory switch.
Yep I have a video on it
th-cam.com/video/fzPbmBBQDNA/w-d-xo.html
they make pliars specifically for that type of clip
What’s the torque spec for the ring gear?
12 ughha ughha then tack weld
it is 74 ft lbs
What offset rims did you have on the Honda 300 ?
4+3 with a lot of rear spacers
@@MudPuppyOffroad how much on rear like 3inch in back and 1inch in front ?
@@orlinrodriguez9053 depends on what rear axle you are running
@@MudPuppyOffroad stock rear axle
Talks bout can am 4wd but doing the same to a Honda lol still love ur vids tho just had to hit u wit that
Honda offers a true locker on all things utility
@@MudPuppyOffroad there four wheelers have a diff lock right
Let’s gooo
Can you try out a defender limited and give me your opinion I'm looking into one to put on portals
Not a chance now that there is a talon locker

Yep should fix
