    Giving decorative and quote stickers to schools, even secondary level, is a great suggestion. I teach junior high English and the students love to decorate their journals with stickers. We've used checklist stickers and box stickers for brainstorming activities, too.

    I thought of “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Sticker Sheets”. You do a giveaway of all (or a decent amount of sticker sheets) to a single winner. The winner could then keep those that he/she likes and pass it on to the next person…including her destash sticker sheets. And so hopefully the traveling goes on 😁

    What's interesting to me is how you said, "what's not valuable to one person, could be valuable to someone else" is so freaking true! Like for me those little icon stickers that you said you'd likely never use, for me personally I am the complete opposite. I use those types of little stickers so much that I dang near ration them. I use them in basically every spread but then my way of planning isn't to use giant stickers or do scenes, I stick with a theme but mostly do functional stickers to go with whatever I have going on.

    A friend of mine is a kindergarten teacher. I give her my unwanted stickers for the kids' centre time. They create all kinds of fun stuff and they love having the stickers to embellish their creations. ❤

    You could use the small stickers to fill up the middle section of a vertical like the way some use flowers to fill the section especially with the lips, heels, and nail polish ones to make a simple girly spread

    I loved this video! I keep a stack of stickers I won't use for activities with kids at work. I work at a Juvenile Detention and Residential Treatment Center for our county and fun things like "stickers" can't be purchased with county money but they are great for processing groups and activities. If anyone ever wants to send us stickers let me know.

    Sometimes I will use the random decorative icon stickers on my to-do lists instead of tracing check boxes/using plain bullet stickers. Lately, I've been using daily, weekly, and monthly inserts to keep track of chores and other recurring tasks, so I will use random stickers on there as well.
    Another thing I do is when I wrap presents, I will look through my sticker books for stickers to use as labels and to decorate around the label. I tend to use wrapping paper throughout the year even if it was purchased just for Christmas, so it doesn't go to waste. Adding decorative stickers helps.
    I also have kids, so if there's a week that I don't really have a theme in mind for my spreads or can't find the time/energy to decorate, I'll put down all my functional stickers and such and then just let one or more of my kids go to town with random stickers and doodles in the blank spaces. Bonus is it's a lovely memory of my time spent with them.
    If my kids are wanting to do arts and crafts or work in their own journals/planners (they're very inconsistent with these since I keep track of important things in mine), I will also give them supervised access to my stickers because I don't really want them just using them all up in one day even if they're my least preferred ones. They have their own sticker collections from dollar tree and such, but sometimes they want to look through my collection.

    You could always use the smaller multiple stickers like the palm trees, lips and coffee cups as bullet points and I use decorative stickers in birthday cards or on envelopes.

    Hi Desiree... I made a "Tinies" sticker book and put all the little stickers in it. I pull it out when I am journaling and fill in the little blank areas or a place where there wasn't much to say... or I found a sticker that related to what I was trying to say.... just a thought ;0) Again, you could give the little stickers to your Mom, especially if she is an elementary teacher... she could put a sticker on work that she grades.... I am a teacher and my scholars love to look for the sticker when I return their papers.. ;0) Michelle

    Using the unwanted or never-used stickers for memory-keeping/journaling on weeks when you didn't have time to pre-plan is an excellent way to use the stickers.

    Omg. I'm only 45 seconds into this video, but the stickers you don't use are my absolute favorite. I'm always bummed that there aren't more decorative or fun stickers in a given book.
    But I'm also the weido who can't bring themself to use boxes unless I know exactly what I want to put in there and that I'm certain that it will fit just right. I hardly use boxes at all.
    Honestly, if you (or anyone else here) wanted to do a sticker exchange, I would gladly send you pages of boxes for some cute cactuses.

    Sometimes I choose a theme I wound normally do and use as many stickers as I can of those I don’t like but go with that theme. Sometimes I end up liking it, sometimes I don’t but I only have to live with it for a week.

    I take apart sticker books and sort all the stickers by color, type, if they’re the same, etc. And keep all the things I like. Anything I don’t I am gonna give away (I have so many that I will do it once I start my TH-cam videos)
    I just wouldn’t use what you don’t gravitate to. If it doesn’t bring you joy, make you happy, or you’re not satisfied with your spread, I wouldn’t use them. I don’t like gold, but very rarely will I use it if my spread is cool.

    I love your idea of using up stickers you normally wouldn't use in a planner spread but like the art and/or colors with memory keeping. I do like to journal my feelings but not on a daily basis, which is why I do like using discbound planners/notebooks for it. But memory keeping--that is definitely a way to journal so you shouldn't discount it as a journal method!

    Now I know what that one sheet I have of stickers is for. Hourly planning. Duh me why didn't I think of that. Probably because I don't plan hourly. I guess you could use the hourly for times for meetings and appointments in your planner but I got better stickers than that for those things.

    Do people actually throw out stickers? Your comment surprised me! I take my sticker rejects to kindergarten classes. They don’t care what they look like often, they just like sticking stickers. It works on fine motor control too. If you know a teacher (your mom), they can just be left in the staff room with a free sign. 😊

    • @Happy2planwithDesiree
      @Happy2planwithDesiree  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had to rewatch my video because I don't remember saying that I throw out my stickers. I mentioned that instead of throwing them out that you could give them away, give them to a new planner, find a FB group that has a buy sell trade. I even mention that I do give them to my mom since she is a teacher and kids love stickers! I'm sure there are times stickers are thrown out, that's not hard for me to believe...especially if you have so much and it's starting to get overwhelming😅

    • @TracyKMainwaring
      @TracyKMainwaring 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Happy2planwithDesiree Sorry, I didn't mean to imply you throw them out, I was just shocked that people would actually do that LOL. I'm a re-use, recycle kind of gal. I was pleased to hear you mention your mom is a teacher in the video (that's why I included that). Everyone usually knows someone who is a teacher, but they might not think, say, a grade 8 math teacher would want them. There's always another teacher in the staff room happy to take leftovers!
      Your journals look lovely and are very inspiring!

    I'm not sure but I don't think there are any sticker police that will arrest you for not using stickers you don't like. Just give them away and use ones you do like. Life is too short!

    • @Happy2planwithDesiree
      @Happy2planwithDesiree  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha ya I wish people would not freak about that..but unfortunately they do. I’ve had ppl on here get mad at me for using stickers in a spread that I don’t plan on using. Sometime I like to just use the stickers to make a pretty spread 🤷🏻‍♀️😅
