  • Devil's Peak is a peak in Sai Kung and has many Grade 2 historical buildings reflecting Hongkong's rich military history in the past. The batteries and forts are very interesting to explore.Devil's Peak faces the narrow Lei Yue Mun channel where you can watch the ships coming from the east of Victoria Harbor. After the British leased the New Territories in1898,they selected the Peak to build military defence facilities and made it an important military stronghold.
The main clusters of military structures that still remain intact are Devil's Peak Redoubt,Gough Battery and Pottinger Battery.
Devil's Peak hike is known to be one of the nice sunset spots in HongKong with just a short hike from the MTR station and usually draws a fairly large crowds in the weekends. The view in the evening is truly breathtaking.
    How to reach there?
To reach Devil's Peak, you will need to catch the MTR to Yau Tong station.Take exit A and make your way to Ko Chiu Road. Then head up Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery. You will find a small arch which will mark the start of the trail.
