The reason why Kent State vs Bowling Green rivalry is called the Anniversary Award is because the two Ohio institutions were founded at around the same time in 1910 as a result of the Lowry Bill. On the 75th anniversary of the founding of these two institutions, the trophy was given out in 1985 to celebrate it.

Mississippi Valley is one of the worst D1 sports teams I have ever seen. They went 1-10 in football, 1-30 in men’s basketball, and 4-27 in women’s basketball (including a 101-19 loss to South Carolina), ALL LAST YEAR. Actually insane how they are D1. Also RIP the football player who unfortunately passed recently 🫡
