Decks that fit the definition of Thoth : Non Scenic Pip decks that are used for Qabalah as was practised by the Golden Dawn. Tarot decks that are Non RWS and Non Hybrid combination decks. Single Thoth titles used on the major arcana cards and Thoth titles for the minor arcana & court cards. NOTE : Hybrid decks eg. Sun & Moon Tarot is NOT Thoth based, nor is the Zillich Tarot. Hybrid combination decks are thoth inspired but Not Thoth based. Tarot of the Spirit and Navigators of the Mystic Sea are Thoth inspired but not Thoth based.

Another clue is that 8 is Justice and 11 is Strength as in the Marseille, always as per practised for qabalah by the Golden Dawn. The only real thoth tarot is the Crowley Thoth deck itself 😊
So the decks that are Thoth would have the same keywords and any other hybrid or Thoth inspired decks would be the creator choosing keywords based on the original Thoth card meanings?

Well done for asking this question! I have the Thoth but haven't started a deep study yet so these are questions I also ask and I'm interested to find out more. I'm currently studying Tarot of the Spirit and find it to be inspired by Tarot in general (neither Thoth or RWS particularly) and in a very scientific/Universal/Cosmological way, if that makes sense. The art is delightful, lots of geometrics and nothing that could offend. Just ordered the Haidl Tarot and look forward to working with that. Navigators of the Mystic Sea looks trippy!
Just an FYI, the Thoth deck has switched the positions of "Lust" and "Adjustment" as per the Marseilles tradition... so "Lust" is actually comparable to "Strength" and "Adjustment" to "Justice.
Thanks, Candy. I must admit I use Thoth leaning decks as if they were either Marseilles or RWS. I have the Thoth Journey and watched a comparison with Crowley's I think by Mendy (Artistry of Tarot) and it was fascinating how the art connected. But is it true Thoth? At this point I have such a mish-mosh of numerology, archetypes, images, pips, etc. in my brain, maybe it doesn't matter? I thnk we all pick the things that resonate with us from every approach. (And, after all, Crowley seems like a weird creep, so do I even want to devote myself to learning his system??) 😀

The Thoth deck switches the numbers of the Waite-Smith Strength 8 and Justice 11. Adjustment 8 corresponds to Justice and Lust 11 corresponds to Strength.
I have the Gill and Haindl and didn’t even realise that they’re Thoth based! I’m waiting for a Thoth to arrive in the post but only so I can admire the pictures 🥴😂🥰 Thanks for a very interesting video
I only have 2 Thoth based decks The Gill Tarot and Tabula mundi. I have not got to grips with them as i find them harder to interpret than the RWS. I like to think I am quite articulate but words like satiety break me into a sweat so maybe your idea of getting the thesaurus on a few key words is a good idea...

I believe that at least Tarot of the Spirit an Gill are inspired but not Thoth, starting for the justice and strenght changes, those use the tree of life an Kabalah notions but are not really Thoth . GILL is more hybrid. And Tarot of the Spirit is its own thing. All 😍. I have the avisaron Quest that is inspired by a Thoth I believe much more in minors.
