As I've commented in similar videos, one of the advantages of living in London is how easy it is to get to Paris! Two of the best cities in the world linked by a single rail journey.
I'm so jealous! I couldn't drive in any direction from Denver for two hours and get out of the state but you can hop on a train and be in Paris or Brussels in only a few hours.
@@TwoDisneyDudes The whole of France is worth visiting. If I added up all the time I've spent there it would probably amount to about 4 months. I've been to quite a few countries (not as many as I'd like), but France is right up there near the top of the list.

It was pretty high up but it never felt unsafe. But neither of us have a fear of heights so it's easy for me to say. But the view is good from any level so you don't have to go all the way up to see great views of Paris.
Our next trip will be entirely outside the city. I'd love to see more of the countryside and maybe get over to Ireland and Scotland too. Any excuse to get back to the UK would be good for me :-)

Thanks for watching! It was some elevator ride, especially up to the very top. I've been on top of tall buildings before like the Empire State Building but those elevators are all inside. It was something else to see the world outside get smaller and smaller as we went higher and higher.
roundabout at the arc de triomphe is frightening. I am from the UK so well used to using them but this roundabout turns everything on its head as traffic entering the roundabout has right of way and traffic already on the roundabout has to give way, totally opposite to most roundabouts.
I remember being in a car driving around it back in the 70's and nobody was giving way ! Everything came to a grinding halt and we had to wait for the police to come and clear it. Great adventure.
Someone else had mentioned that who has to give way is different in the UK than it is in France, which I'm sure lead to a lot of tense surprises. I'm not an anxious person but watching that roundabout gave me anxiety.

Thanks! I like to think I'm polite most of the time. I know French people have a reputation for being rude but we thought everyone we met was very lovely. Sure, there's always a few rude people no matter where you go but the French people we interacted with we all very nice.
You are correct that the Torch was there before the Princess' death. The Torch is actually a "small scale" version of the flame of Lady Liberty that the artist Bartholdi used while making our Lady of the Lamp in NY.
I have driven in the UK, all across Europe, all across the USA, India, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong and the roundabout around the Arc de Triomphe is the most chaotic, lawless and frightening piece of roads I have ever driven.
On our first day after we got back to Paris after Disneyland Paris we did a bus tour and it went through that roundabout and it was just as chaotic and frightening as you describe.
Fantastic Vlog! Although I have been to Paris many times, your video enlightened me even more e.g. never went up to the top of Eiffel Tower. Amazing video. stay connected. You did not mention Seine River unless I missed it. After the fire at Notre Dame I wish you had gone there also to see update of refurbishment.
We come back to Paris after a couple of days in Disneyland Paris. You'll see Notre Dame in the videos for both of the days we're back in Paris. On the first day back you only see the front but on the second day you see the back and the side. The side is from an hour-long boat ride on the Seine on that last day. You can't get that close and there is a lot of scaffolding.
We climbed the Eiffel Tower until you had to get the elevator to the very top, and that part freaked me out. Am not amazing with heights and you can feel it moving in the wind up there can’t you. It’s amazing though. I totally LOVE Paris 💖💖💖
Oh yeah... it's so high up that I'm sure it would trigger anyone with even the slightest bit of acrophobia. And yes, I could feel it moving every so slightly at the top, which I'm sure would unnerve many people. I loved it though.

We went to the Sacre Coeur which is amazing, and the Notre Dame, which is just gorgeous, and the Louvre which is all kinds of fascinating, and did like you guys did in London and just yomped all over the place. And the Gay scene in Paris is a lot of laughs. Really enjoying your adventures guys. Am really looking forward to seeing Disney Land Paris 💖💖
I have been to Paris many time love the food ,the history and the French chic As a former Londoner I do find it more expensive but would say I like both cities equally.
I wish I could say I've been to Paris many times. The food was so good, especially the bread. And Paris just had this vibe that I connected with. I miss it already.

Having watched your London vlog, I have followed you to Paris. It definitely has very different feel to London. Re the Passport Control guy- I think it's part of their job to look unfriendly and make you feel rather nervous, even when you know your papers are in order and you know your motives for travel are all above board. :D Not just a guy who isn't enjoying his job!
Thanks so much for watching! We've all had bad customer service experiences so the passport guy didn't ruin my day and most of the time I wouldn't even comment on it. But this guy was so unpleasant that it was worth a mention.
Like I say. It's not considered bad Customer service - it's a deliberate choice to maintain that sort of demeanour to indicate the seriousness of the transaction. Passport control in the UK are ALWAYS like this.
@@carolineskipper6976 I've always found UK immigration/customs staff ok to deal with (LHR, LGW, Eurostar (Brussels), Dover/Folkestone etc.) I very rarely get stopped by customs and when I do, I try to remember that they have an important job to do and have to deal with 'difficult' passengers so I just let them do what they've got to do and answer all their questions honestly which speeds up the whole process. I think that guy at St Pancras was probably just having a bad day, perhaps he'd had to explain something really simple twenty times to someone of limited intellect or perhaps someone had wasted his, and everyone else's, time by trying to get him to bend the rules in some way (they won't so don't ask!).
@@TwoDisneyDudes When I Visit the USA, the immigration officers are some of the rudest on the planet, and aggressive. But once your in, the American people are very warm, friendly and a joy to be around.... Customs and Immigration are often rude, in many countries..
@@TwoDisneyDudes the passport guy in St Pancreas station is French boarder control, and he would had had a pistol as part of his uniform. When you join the Eurostar in Gar du Nord you go through UK passport control.
If you get the chance you should visit Epernay in the champagne region, (it's right next to Reims). It's so gorgeous there and all the major champagne manufacturers have their head quarters there, basically on the same street! I did a tour of the Moet wine cellars and it was great. Beautiful part of the country!
Fun fact: Arc de Triomph commemorates the triumphs of the Napoleonic wars. The huge British lions you saw in London’s Trafalgar Square, were forged out of the metal melted from captured French cannons, after Nelson defeated Napoleon 😂
We are Disney fans and we want to eventually go to every Disney park. Disneyland Paris got us halfway there. But we were only in Disneyland Paris for a couple of days. You'll see in later videos that we come back and enjoy two more days in Paris.

I went to Paris, aged 10, with my Mum, my Aunt and my Cousin. My Mum was scared of heights so we didn't go up the Eiffel Tower. In fact she became quite ill, just standing underneath it, looking up. Happy days, many years ago
I'm with your Mum on that - I can't look at someone up on a ladder. Even looking at a film where the camera pans down to give the impression that the actor is up on the roof of a 20, 30 or 40 story building I can feel my stomach heaving and I have the chair pushed back so far that i am nearly gone through the wall into the next room.

Ha ha! I'm not a fatalist but I did briefly think while I was up there that if something disastrous happened there would be nothing I could do about it so I guess I'd just die. LOL. Thankfully, nothing bad happened and it was a good time instead.

Yes, we couldn't have easily gotten by without the data since we used Google maps for getting around. I addressed this in the video from our third day in London so feel free to watch that for more detailed info but the gist... we switched our phone plan to Google Fi because it was cheaper than what we were paying and included international coverage. So we had coverage and got to keep our numbers. My brother-in-law has Verizon and when he travels he just buys up the international coverage for $10 a day, which he says works great.

Just along the Seine, left from the Effiel Tower, is a much smaller version of the statue of liberty, as the French gave it to America as a gift, in the middle of the Seine, you can walk to it via a bridge, is a smaller human size one. Added - I walked up the tower on each occasion I've been as I think the view is great walking up.
I knew there was a smaller version of the Statue of Liberty somewhere but we didn't end up looking for it because we've seen the full-sized version and we had enough on our agenda already. It's on the list for the next time though.
I'm surprised you didn't take a photograph outside the station at st. Pancras in London where you set off from it's such a beautiful railway station and you never got no photos of it'.
I am also disappointed that I didn't get any video of the outside either. We were trying to rush to the train (even though we ended up having plenty of time) so I didn't go outside of the station at all after having come in on the tube.
I was very disappointed that we couldn't get to Scotland or Ireland on this trip. But it's on the list for the next trip. We'd like to see more of the English countryside as well as get to Ireland and Scotland.
The sandwich shop 'Pret a Manger' you refer to in St Pancras is French for Ready to Eat. It's a reference to the fashion world's Pret a Porter, which means Ready to Wear. Being French, the word Manger is pronounced MonZHAY.

Standard Premier is a good one to go for on Eurostar, cheaper than business class and more room than standard. I've even seen Standard Premier tickets going for cheaper than Standard ones!
We don't usually buy up our seats as the standard seats on trains or planes are usually just fine for us. In fact, I thought our seats were pretty comfortable for being the "cheap" seats. I may have felt differently if the train was completely full.
As I'm sure you realised - getting your passport stamped for France happened in London, there's been an agreement for years where the French/UK borders are 'juxtaposed', Brexit has changed nothing for British people going to the continent as we've never been part of Schengen.
On 🇫🇷 roundabouts you have to give way to traffic entering whereas in 🇬🇧 cars have to give way to traffic already on the roundabout….many a Brit has found this out to their cost 😂
Wow... I can see how that would be confusing for a lot of people when driving in France after driving in Britain. We briefly considered getting rental cars in both cities but decided that it would easy enough to get around using the public transportation since we were sticking to mostly tourist spots anyway.
@@TwoDisneyDudes Even apart from the different rules (and different sides to drive on), hardly any European city of a serious size is best seen with a car. You're usually much better off with public transport, walking and sometimes cycling.
Wow... thanks for the info! I know I could have looked this up but I never did. There are Pret a Mangers in New York city so I've been exposed to them when I visited there but it never occurred to me the correct way to pronounce it.
Have to tell you that Brexit itself has had no effect on passengers exiting or entering the UK. The procedures are the same as before when using aircraft, ships or the train - you just need a passport and possibly a Visa if you are not a British or EU citizen. What has changed is the different COVID rules which are even different between countries in the EU itself. And this has caused delays especially as post COVID there are staff shortages. That unhappy guy was likely a French border guy as the French check people leaving the UK and the British border people check people leaving France.
Thanks for the info! The message I got from Eurostar advised us to be there early because of Brexit and Covid the times were longer. But we went through pretty quick and I couldn't figure out how Brexit would have affected vacation travel anyway. Oh well... we were planning on being early anyway to get some breakfast beforehand so it really wasn't that big of a deal. And yeah, that guy definitely wasn't happy in his job. It didn't ruin our trip but his grumpiness was so memorable that it was worth mentioning in the video.
@@TwoDisneyDudes The Eurostar part of St Pancras always was a security closed area even when we were in the EU so passports were always needed. Have to say that St Pancras station is probably one of the most beautiful stations in Europe. It was remodelled in 2007 when they moved the Eurostar terminus from Waterloo (South London) to St Pancras and they opened it up beautifully. The overhead ironwork and glass was put up in 1868.
@1chish recently discovered that St Pancras was deliberately built with materials/ decoration made and transported from the East Midlands (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire mainly) - the area the station was originally built to serve, (and still does). It was an intentional move to promote the crafts in the area and, to me, has to make it one of the most spectacular advertisements on the planet.

The main reason that the architecture is different is because London was flattened by the Germans. The French had no such problems; they simply surrendered.
As much as I like the old European city style of Paris, London's old and new aesthetic was also very appealing. Old and modern at the same time is not always easy to pull off and London does it well.
You mentioned "cobblestones" in London and in Paris. These you videoed are not cobblestones but are "sets". Cobblestones are circular like stones usually polished smooth by years of use. Actually, Diana was not a princess. Her title was Diana, Princess of Wales. OK, it does sound like being a princess but despite her popular reference as such sorry but she was not a princess. To be a prince or princess the individual has to be of royal blood. A really good video!
I don't have a video for it but there are trains that go directly from the airport to Châtelet Les Halles, which is close to the hotel where we stayed. And from Châtelet Les Halles, you can take the Metro subway anywhere you wish. You can also take a taxi or an Uber. I was also concerned about getting around prior to my trip but it ended up being fairly easy.
I had a horrible time when I went to Paris on the train in 2017. So many pick pockets..people begging for money....even had some cash taken out of my backpack after I turned my head for maybe 5 seconds. I never have been back
We watched a number of videos on what scams to watch out for and how to guard against pickpockets so we were prepared. And I guess our preparations worked as we weren't pickpocketed. And we didn't have anyone come up to us with the usual scams either. But I can see how that would make for a very bad experience if it happened to you. I'm sorry to hear that it did.
@@TwoDisneyDudes Certain times of the year gangs of pickpockets from South America descend on London, Paris etc. They often operate on London Underground. Once they've made enough money, they head back home.
As beautiful as Paris may be, I have to say my favorite part of my stay there other than the hotel...was the Eurostar back to London. My phone got stolen on my second day there, and the Apple Store in Paris was absolutely no help. That just soured me on the entire country. I never even got to see more than a couple blocks from the hotel. It will probably be quite a while before I even think of doing Paris again. Even three years after the trip, I'm still pissed. Glad you guys had fun, though; maybe I've got France all wrong. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt; just not now...
I can see how this experience would sour you on the city. We watched a lot of videos on how to avoid being pickpocketed or scammed or otherwise protect your items from theft so we were well prepared. How did it happen to you?
Mon Dieu! Les Francaises adorent les voitures!!! Hmm - maybe I heard wrongly, that the French were fans of bicycles. Hard to imagine seeing how dedicated they are to cars.
There were a lot of cars but there were a lot of bicycles, mopeds, and e-scooters too. So there were many kinds of vehicles that we had to avoid as we tried to cross the street.
West London wasnt bombed that much, the City, South and East London were targetted and largely flattened but the 1960s planners did just as much damage!
I get that, but there's a difference between doing your job and being unfriendly (almost hostile) while doing your job. I don't expect friendliness from anyone in that position and normally I wouldn't even comment on it but his demeanor was so unpleasant that it was worth mentioning. I just chalk it up to him having a bad day. I'm sure it gets tedious looking at people documents all day.
Yup... my American pronunciation was showing. I'm embarrassed about Pret because they have those in NYC so I've been exposed to them before but I never looked up how to properly pronounce the name.
Disneyland Paris was a lot smaller than what we're used to in Disney World. But it was still fun and I'm glad we did it. I don't need to go back again though unless I happen to be near it.

Paris is beautiful, but then so was London before the Germans bombed the arse out of it in WW2, Paris was mostly spared due to the French quickly surrendering to the Nazis 😶
I thought both cities were beautiful but in very different ways. Paris sure has that old city feeling and look. But London has that great mixture of old and new that also appealed to me.

We come back to Paris after two days in Disneyland Paris so keep an eye out for those videos. This was just a half day to get all the Covid steps out of the way that we ultimately didn't end up needing to do. Just part of the fun of planning a trip while the rules are changing. I wanted to order a salad because we saw a lady eating a salad at this restaurant while we were heading to the hotel but ultimately chose the cheeseburger because it sounded good. And it tasted different (in a good way) than any other cheeseburger I'd had. Don't worry, we eat plenty at patisseries and boulangeries over the next few days... and some of the best sushi I ever had.
I understand. I'm certainly not an expert on it but I'm active on Reddit and Imgur and I can tell that many British people are unhappy about the B-word. But I also recognize Reddit and Imgur are just social media platforms so you have to take opinions with a grain of salt. It's nice to hear a personal opinion.
St pancras station looks depressing. Why does everyone dress in black nowadays. Not relevant i know. But it really does stand out. It's like wearing bright clothes is a crime these days.

I have heard that all car insurance stops on entering the Arc de Triomphe, and restarts on exiting because its so dangerous.

Thanks! I like to think I'm polite most of the time. I know French people have a reputation for being rude but we thought everyone we met was very lovely. Sure, there's always a few rude people no matter where you go but the French people we interacted with we all very nice.

You are correct that the Torch was there before the Princess' death. The Torch is actually a "small scale" version of the flame of Lady Liberty that the artist Bartholdi used while making our Lady of the Lamp in NY.

I have driven in the UK, all across Europe, all across the USA, India, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong and the roundabout around the Arc de Triomphe is the most chaotic, lawless and frightening piece of roads I have ever driven.
On our first day after we got back to Paris after Disneyland Paris we did a bus tour and it went through that roundabout and it was just as chaotic and frightening as you describe.

Fantastic Vlog! Although I have been to Paris many times, your video enlightened me even more e.g. never went up to the top of Eiffel Tower. Amazing video. stay connected. You did not mention Seine River unless I missed it. After the fire at Notre Dame I wish you had gone there also to see update of refurbishment.
We come back to Paris after a couple of days in Disneyland Paris. You'll see Notre Dame in the videos for both of the days we're back in Paris. On the first day back you only see the front but on the second day you see the back and the side. The side is from an hour-long boat ride on the Seine on that last day. You can't get that close and there is a lot of scaffolding.

We climbed the Eiffel Tower until you had to get the elevator to the very top, and that part freaked me out. Am not amazing with heights and you can feel it moving in the wind up there can’t you. It’s amazing though. I totally LOVE Paris 💖💖💖
Oh yeah... it's so high up that I'm sure it would trigger anyone with even the slightest bit of acrophobia. And yes, I could feel it moving every so slightly at the top, which I'm sure would unnerve many people. I loved it though.

I have been to Paris many time love the food ,the history and the French chic As a former Londoner I do find it more expensive but would say I like both cities equally.
I wish I could say I've been to Paris many times. The food was so good, especially the bread. And Paris just had this vibe that I connected with. I miss it already.

Having watched your London vlog, I have followed you to Paris. It definitely has very different feel to London. Re the Passport Control guy- I think it's part of their job to look unfriendly and make you feel rather nervous, even when you know your papers are in order and you know your motives for travel are all above board. :D Not just a guy who isn't enjoying his job!
Thanks so much for watching! We've all had bad customer service experiences so the passport guy didn't ruin my day and most of the time I wouldn't even comment on it. But this guy was so unpleasant that it was worth a mention.
Like I say. It's not considered bad Customer service - it's a deliberate choice to maintain that sort of demeanour to indicate the seriousness of the transaction. Passport control in the UK are ALWAYS like this.
@@carolineskipper6976 I've always found UK immigration/customs staff ok to deal with (LHR, LGW, Eurostar (Brussels), Dover/Folkestone etc.) I very rarely get stopped by customs and when I do, I try to remember that they have an important job to do and have to deal with 'difficult' passengers so I just let them do what they've got to do and answer all their questions honestly which speeds up the whole process. I think that guy at St Pancras was probably just having a bad day, perhaps he'd had to explain something really simple twenty times to someone of limited intellect or perhaps someone had wasted his, and everyone else's, time by trying to get him to bend the rules in some way (they won't so don't ask!).
@@TwoDisneyDudes When I Visit the USA, the immigration officers are some of the rudest on the planet, and aggressive. But once your in, the American people are very warm, friendly and a joy to be around.... Customs and Immigration are often rude, in many countries..

When you join the Eurostar in Gar du Nord you go through UK passport control.
If you get the chance you should visit Epernay in the champagne region, (it's right next to Reims). It's so gorgeous there and all the major champagne manufacturers have their head quarters there, basically on the same street! I did a tour of the Moet wine cellars and it was great. Beautiful part of the country!
Our next trip will be fully outside London. I'd love to see other cities and more of the countryside. So much to see in so little time, right?
Fun fact: Arc de Triomph commemorates the triumphs of the Napoleonic wars. The huge British lions you saw in London’s Trafalgar Square, were forged out of the metal melted from captured French cannons, after Nelson defeated Napoleon 😂

We are Disney fans and we want to eventually go to every Disney park. Disneyland Paris got us halfway there. But we were only in Disneyland Paris for a couple of days. You'll see in later videos that we come back and enjoy two more days in Paris.

I went to Paris, aged 10, with my Mum, my Aunt and my Cousin. My Mum was scared of heights so we didn't go up the Eiffel Tower. In fact she became quite ill, just standing underneath it, looking up. Happy days, many years ago

I'm with your Mum on that - I can't look at someone up on a ladder. Even looking at a film where the camera pans down to give the impression that the actor is up on the roof of a 20, 30 or 40 story building I can feel my stomach heaving and I have the chair pushed back so far that i am nearly gone through the wall into the next room.

They said something about that in the first vlog, I think. They switched plans to some Google plan that includes international use.
Yes, we couldn't have easily gotten by without the data since we used Google maps for getting around. I addressed this in the video from our third day in London so feel free to watch that for more detailed info but the gist... we switched our phone plan to Google Fi because it was cheaper than what we were paying and included international coverage. So we had coverage and got to keep our numbers. My brother-in-law has Verizon and when he travels he just buys up the international coverage for $10 a day, which he says works great.

Just along the Seine, left from the Effiel Tower, is a much smaller version of the statue of liberty, as the French gave it to America as a gift, in the middle of the Seine, you can walk to it via a bridge, is a smaller human size one.
Added - I walked up the tower on each occasion I've been as I think the view is great walking up.
I knew there was a smaller version of the Statue of Liberty somewhere but we didn't end up looking for it because we've seen the full-sized version and we had enough on our agenda already. It's on the list for the next time though.
I'm surprised you didn't take a photograph outside the station at st. Pancras in London where you set off from it's such a beautiful railway station and you never got no photos of it'.
I am also disappointed that I didn't get any video of the outside either. We were trying to rush to the train (even though we ended up having plenty of time) so I didn't go outside of the station at all after having come in on the tube.

The sandwich shop 'Pret a Manger' you refer to in St Pancras is French for Ready to Eat. It's a reference to the fashion world's Pret a Porter, which means Ready to Wear. Being French, the word Manger is pronounced MonZHAY.

Standard Premier is a good one to go for on Eurostar, cheaper than business class and more room than standard. I've even seen Standard Premier tickets going for cheaper than Standard ones!
We don't usually buy up our seats as the standard seats on trains or planes are usually just fine for us. In fact, I thought our seats were pretty comfortable for being the "cheap" seats. I may have felt differently if the train was completely full.
As I'm sure you realised - getting your passport stamped for France happened in London, there's been an agreement for years where the French/UK borders are 'juxtaposed', Brexit has changed nothing for British people going to the continent as we've never been part of Schengen.
Yup... I have a stamp for France but I don't have a stamp for England in my passport. Oh well... maybe next time I'll go through the line instead.
On 🇫🇷 roundabouts you have to give way to traffic entering whereas in 🇬🇧 cars have to give way to traffic already on the roundabout….many a Brit has found this out to their cost 😂
Wow... I can see how that would be confusing for a lot of people when driving in France after driving in Britain. We briefly considered getting rental cars in both cities but decided that it would easy enough to get around using the public transportation since we were sticking to mostly tourist spots anyway.

It's a weird thing; 'Pret a Manger' a diner chain in UK uses French to name itself meaning 'Ready to Eat'!

I agree. So much to see. We did everything on our list but there was so much more I would have liked to have done or seen.
Have to tell you that Brexit itself has had no effect on passengers exiting or entering the UK. The procedures are the same as before when using aircraft, ships or the train - you just need a passport and possibly a Visa if you are not a British or EU citizen.
What has changed is the different COVID rules which are even different between countries in the EU itself. And this has caused delays especially as post COVID there are staff shortages.
That unhappy guy was likely a French border guy as the French check people leaving the UK and the British border people check people leaving France.
Thanks for the info! The message I got from Eurostar advised us to be there early because of Brexit and Covid the times were longer. But we went through pretty quick and I couldn't figure out how Brexit would have affected vacation travel anyway. Oh well... we were planning on being early anyway to get some breakfast beforehand so it really wasn't that big of a deal. And yeah, that guy definitely wasn't happy in his job. It didn't ruin our trip but his grumpiness was so memorable that it was worth mentioning in the video.
@@TwoDisneyDudes The Eurostar part of St Pancras always was a security closed area even when we were in the EU so passports were always needed.
Have to say that St Pancras station is probably one of the most beautiful stations in Europe. It was remodelled in 2007 when they moved the Eurostar terminus from Waterloo (South London) to St Pancras and they opened it up beautifully. The overhead ironwork and glass was put up in 1868.
@1chish recently discovered that St Pancras was deliberately built with materials/ decoration made and transported from the East Midlands (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire mainly) - the area the station was originally built to serve, (and still does). It was an intentional move to promote the crafts in the area and, to me, has to make it one of the most spectacular advertisements on the planet.

The main reason that the architecture is different is because London was flattened by the Germans. The French had no such problems; they simply surrendered.
As much as I like the old European city style of Paris, London's old and new aesthetic was also very appealing. Old and modern at the same time is not always easy to pull off and London does it well.

You mentioned "cobblestones" in London and in Paris. These you videoed are not cobblestones but are "sets". Cobblestones are circular like stones usually polished smooth by years of use. Actually, Diana was not a princess. Her title was Diana, Princess of Wales. OK, it does sound like being a princess but despite her popular reference as such sorry but she was not a princess. To be a prince or princess the individual has to be of royal blood. A really good video!

Can someone do a video about how to get from the airports into Paris. This will help me with my fear of traveling to France.
I don't have a video for it but there are trains that go directly from the airport to Châtelet Les Halles, which is close to the hotel where we stayed. And from Châtelet Les Halles, you can take the Metro subway anywhere you wish. You can also take a taxi or an Uber. I was also concerned about getting around prior to my trip but it ended up being fairly easy.

I had a horrible time when I went to Paris on the train in 2017. So many pick pockets..people begging for money....even had some cash taken out of my backpack after I turned my head for maybe 5 seconds. I never have been back
We watched a number of videos on what scams to watch out for and how to guard against pickpockets so we were prepared. And I guess our preparations worked as we weren't pickpocketed. And we didn't have anyone come up to us with the usual scams either. But I can see how that would make for a very bad experience if it happened to you. I'm sorry to hear that it did.
@@TwoDisneyDudes Certain times of the year gangs of pickpockets from South America descend on London, Paris etc. They often operate on London Underground. Once they've made enough money, they head back home.
As beautiful as Paris may be, I have to say my favorite part of my stay there other than the hotel...was the Eurostar back to London. My phone got stolen on my second day there, and the Apple Store in Paris was absolutely no help. That just soured me on the entire country. I never even got to see more than a couple blocks from the hotel. It will probably be quite a while before I even think of doing Paris again. Even three years after the trip, I'm still pissed. Glad you guys had fun, though; maybe I've got France all wrong. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt; just not now...

There were a lot of cars but there were a lot of bicycles, mopeds, and e-scooters too. So there were many kinds of vehicles that we had to avoid as we tried to cross the street.
Have to be in France on a Sunday for cyclists more lycra shorts than you can shake a stick at.

I get that, but there's a difference between doing your job and being unfriendly (almost hostile) while doing your job. I don't expect friendliness from anyone in that position and normally I wouldn't even comment on it but his demeanor was so unpleasant that it was worth mentioning. I just chalk it up to him having a bad day. I'm sure it gets tedious looking at people documents all day.

I thought both cities were beautiful but in very different ways. Paris sure has that old city feeling and look. But London has that great mixture of old and new that also appealed to me.

We only used the shuttle a couple of times. The hotel was close enough that we walked most of the time.

We come back to Paris after two days in Disneyland Paris so keep an eye out for those videos. This was just a half day to get all the Covid steps out of the way that we ultimately didn't end up needing to do. Just part of the fun of planning a trip while the rules are changing. I wanted to order a salad because we saw a lady eating a salad at this restaurant while we were heading to the hotel but ultimately chose the cheeseburger because it sounded good. And it tasted different (in a good way) than any other cheeseburger I'd had. Don't worry, we eat plenty at patisseries and boulangeries over the next few days... and some of the best sushi I ever had.
