When I listen to these Australian crimes stories, I am always amazed at how lazy the police investigation appears: almost,in my opinion disinterested
Right? I feel like they’re kinda taking it easy… sometimes I even doubt their ability to even solve the case. I prefer watching the US crime stories because the police is at least motivated to solve the crime.
I know they’re always like: So if anybody has any information or if anybody saw anything that night…always waiting for someone else to do their job!
Agree, they don't care much , it's not fair. unlike USA police who go after criminals like hound dogs.
Gavin pawned his girlfriend’s clarinet when she was out of town so he could hire an escort and then uncharacteristically laundered the bedsheets and cleaned the car? I don’t believe a word Gavin says about anything at all and I haven’t even finished the video!
@@liliivanova2920 The guy was smoking like a dragon so it shouldn’t be that hard to get his DNA!
@@donnaengel6413 in Australia he should voluntarily provide his DNA, so that it can legally be considered as evidence. Of course, the police have made a lot of mistakes without a doubt, but I don't think it's him. The people who owned an escort agency (a married couple with Slavic names, I think Serbian) are much more powerful and very capable of erasing someone's life as if it never existed. And she resented them, acting like they were beneath her, making her own rules. She probably served as an example to the others.
And he’s the only suspect who has scratches and a bite mark on his finger. He was the last one to see her. He had a history of violence, with other women, specifically prostitutes. Then, he was charged with raping the woman he was supposed to be caring for, threatening to kill her with a knife and stalking her, setting fire to her house and killing her. He always carried knives, according to people who knew him. He had a gambling addiction (and alcoholic) or why else would he go gambling with the only money he had, money from pawning his girlfriend’s instrument and then to spend it on a prostitute? I don’t believe for a second that he paid her. He killed her. I hope they catch him before he does it again. When they find her, I am willing to bet she won’t have that money on her. They should have done the first interview right. He never should have been free. Now, he’s committed two murders and still he walks free. Smh what a failure of the system. I’m not to the end of this doc, yet but I hope he is charged SOON.
They cannot get DNA without permission??? I am very surprised by this… American Law Enforcement will follow a suspect to a restaurant and get a sample from any non perishable item that the suspect has used during the course of a meal… Australia is not allowed to do this? This case could have already been solved!!!
Had a recent case of police in NYC taking a new born baby's blood sample shortly after birth, used it in their police records to prove the baby's father was guilty .. simply because they could get the father's personal DNA they STOLE his child's DNA
Just recently, Australia forced people in covid concentration camps and arrested people for breaking a "public health order" so this doesnt surprise me.
The man's been charged with other crimes at least twice, actually convicted of assault, but no DNA test apparently! Just what do you have to do in Australia to be tested!
Some crims are above the law - - at least in Sydney. Ask Roger Rogerson or Stuart "The Magician" Regan.

She wasn't a model ahah she was a street worker. Why was this so highly looked up . What about the other workers that didn't even get looked at
Please, let's not forget how the family's suffering was put an end to by that one rare & magnanimous hug from the coroner.....applause everyone!
The agony shown on Reville's father's face was absolutely heartbreaking.
How incredibly sad the parents never lived to get justice. It is sickening that the pos who murdered this beautiful girl has gone on to live his life for the past 30 years
Parents are reunited with their daughter, but the killer is still out there and needs to face justice!
This beautiful girl? Would it have been less bad if she had been average looking or even unattractive?
There are reasons to believe her parents meet their daughter in heaven. It is up to us humans to seek justice. How can we have allowed such licensious behaviour to become normal? Her ballet teacher was not very good. Otherwise she would have succeeded in the dance world. Her technique was not with equal turnout, and the teacher standing right there for the photo! How very sad no one knew her moonlighting prostitution. Caring people would have stepped in to stop her.
I've been watching so many cases from Australia, and I cannot get over how many cases their law enforcement screws up or doesn't pursue aggressively. What's up with that?
The same reason law enforcement screws up or doesn't pursue aggressively in the US, Canada, the UK, virtually all countries in South America, etc etc.
The only places with relatively few screw ups are the countries with really low crime, like the Scandinavian countries. There are so few crimes that they can afford to spend more time on each case.
The crimes seem especially horrific in Australia. Young single girls should not backpack alone.
It’s because unfortunately here in Australia the biggest criminal network/syndicate is in fact The Australian Police Force! Bullies wouldn’t cut closer to how to explain the systematic bullying abuse corruption and string pulling innocent people become victims too thanks to the cops running the show and controlling the justice system and processes they continue behind the scenes 👎 its very scary and unbelievable true for many centuries! Afterall, we were originally a convict country huh! 🤮😔
Australia and America both have top notch law enforcement.
But they make mistakes at times. They’re not perfect.
Surely they could have taken his DNA the second he was charged with an actual crime of hurting his flat mate. So sad!
I'm sure the comment has been made but I'm gonna make it again...Revelle looks strikingly similar to Kate Moss.
I swear the Australian law enforcement do the least work on any case. Pick up one of those cigarettes 🚬 that he’s smoking and compare it to the DNA they collected.
That would not help as she was a call girl and nobody disputes he met her that day. Other evidence is needed here....like her body. But it has been so long that time and cause of death would be impossible. Some people do get away with murder I suppose.
I so agree with all of the comments. But were seeing it in all countries now, including US.
It's as if they don't want to violate the offenders "rights". This is true in most of the Australian cases I have followed. It's getting that way in the US as well.🙄

Yes, I can only imagine the agony her parents went through and the frustration, the anger they felt at well, really so very little being done to find and prosecute her killer.
The only mystery is how the police were unable to link her murder to the last John...
The only thing one can deduce is that he paid them off. He was most probably connected to the mob. It's beyond obvious that it was him, and that they let him off.
Did the police ever exam the walls of Gavin’s house/car with luminal to point out any blood? I don’t remember them saying so. It’s pretty obvious that Gavin is the killer! 53:42
This is maddening!! It is clear as day that POS did it. He has been walking free for 30 years after he robbed someone of her entire life. This is so wrong!!!
Why don't you look at it from a different angle...How can a woman sell herself to people whom she doesn't know? The most difficult thing is how her family accepts this. She can get a proper job very easily, she is beautiful and has a creative talent, Isn't stated in your understanding of religion that. This life is full of sin and shame. Please tell your kids the importance of living with dignity, and what kind of dangers await them in life, especially the girls. Society's value judgments are decaying day by day. For some, money can buy anything, and everything, even God.
First he killed a young woman, probably also raped her! Then he tried to exploit a mentally and physically ill woman and abused her while living off of her. This is so gross! Right out of the playbook of a misogynist.

Doesn't mean she should be killed for it.
She would be 51 this year if she had lived.
Surely the police are capable of obtaining a surreptitious DNA Sample from the suspect! Following him and doing some police work has worked in the past for law enforcement.
That only helps in cases where they have DNA to compare the sample from the suspect with.
@@Kari.F. Yes, that's true. The program said they did recover DNA. So I don't understand why they haven't done a comparison. If nothing else, they should be able to eliminate the main suspect.

Maybe he eats his cigarette butts? It's a fairly common habit in Oz, unfortunately.
With a police state that Australia is, I'm surprised anyone can do anything without being caught.
Hunting _actual_ criminals requires _actual_ police work. Much easier to just put up a $1M reward, and continue breaking down doors for social media posts.

Yes the one guy said they could not find a clear motive, what a laugh getting a prostitute and then not having money to pay her says to me a clear motive. And from what she said I am sure she was not letting it slide.

I hope Gavin reads this because my guess (from what Ive gathered reading up on this ) is he killed her because he was too drunk to do the deed if you like, and he ended up becoming violent. I’m curious to know if the police found the cash and or check in her purse once it was recovered? I could understand if the cash had perhaps been taken but you would think the check would be left behind.
The supposed money the prime suspect claimed he paid Revelle was never found - neither the cash or the cheque. It's obvious he lied - he never paid her! Not hard to work out what happened.
Emboldened by alcohol, with his girlfriend away he hired a prostitute for a home visit knowing he couldn't pay her. Revelle walked into that house like a lamb to the slaughter, he raped and then murdered her so she couldn't prosecute him. He had luck in successfully disposing of her body. He dumped her shoes and bag to fake an abduction by another man, and had that fake story about dropping her off in town ready when the police inevitably came knocking.
It's clear he was prime suspect from the start. Why police didn't do basic detective work and forensically search his home and car, Lord only knows. Shocking incompetance!

Sydney police have a corrupt and violent history. Ever hear of Roger Rogerson? A Sydney cop who mydyrre dozens of innocent civilians in the 70s and 80s. He had a thing for smacking around baristas and department store salesgirls. Their tight polyester smocks with names embroidered in cursive writing set him off like a stick of dynamite. He liked to use sap gloves because it made him feel strong and sexy, like James Bond, even though he had to wear a toupee to cover his bald spot. He liked a good jam butty and he took his coffee black. Nobody messed with Roger Rogerson. Not even Big Len McPherson or George Freeman. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he weren't mixed up in this case too.
There wasn’t enough evidence to charge him? Wtf r they talking about!?
Yes, specially in Rose case, last woman! He never was charged of assaulting her!
It's really sad that she didn't value herself. There has to be something wrong in someone's life/history to make them turn to pr*stitution by choice.
So I have a question.... is it not allowed in Australia to go & get DNA secretly from a person of interest or suspect in a case? Like, many cases in the US, if there is a POI, & they need to compare a DNA sample to one they have on file, they can go & do some recon & follow the perp, wait until they discard something of DNA quality, & the police will grab it. They then have it sent to the lab, tested, & if it of course matches, they get a judge to sign a warrant, to get that persons actual DNA sample the correct way. Meaning by buccal swab or by blood. So then they not only have the old fashioned, "we got it from his discarded cigarette butt," but they also have it from the person's actual mouth or blood, through court order.
I'm genuinely curious as to why that was never mentioned at all in this. Or if it is just how Australia does things. That's all. Everywhere has different rules & regulations.
Go get his dna any of us . Then get it 6ested independently then just hand the results to police . Wollop 1m
