I was active during the time where double stepping was considered "sloppy" and using the bar was "cheating" except for freestyling. I also played when there were no speed or arrow color mods.
Thanks to that, I can't ever feel comfortable using the bar to conserve stamina. But at least I can cross well, and I've helped some people with those patterns, too!
