Bewitching Oiran / Kimono Look - Improv Makeup & Hair Tutorial

I was a Oiran-style model at DIESEL's After Party, and I've made this video of my hair and make-up from the party! Stepping into the party felt like going back in time to the Edo Period. It was really exciting! I hope you like it:D
先日名古屋で行われたDIESEL CREARE RENEWALのアフターパーティー@The KAWABUN NAGOYAで花魁してきました！会場に一歩足を入れれば、吉原遊廓の様なセットやライトアップされた桜や竹、江戸にタイムスリップしたかのようなアート空間でした。そんな空間でセットの一部の様に着物の私たちがいる訳です。リアルマネキンですね。すごく楽しかったです♡
その時のメイクやヘアセットを楽屋でカメラ回してみたので、動画にしています！
ちなみに私以外の美しい花魁方もみんなセルフメイク・ヘア・着付けをやってます☆
こんな素敵な人にいつも囲まれているから、自分で色々出来るようになったんです^^

There's just something so very authentic about the way you play geisha... I mean, I've seen a million and one geisha looks but none of them have the cadence that you have... the way you carry yourself is so beautiful. You personify the true meaning of "geisha" to me --> 芸 (gei ="art") and 者 (sha="doer"). You're a painting come alive...

Awww... that's so sweet of you. I agree that people on YT need to stop being so easily offended. Seriously, I don't know why people are so defensive when people honestly want to correct their misconceptions. Besides, I love all things "Japan"... I had fun reading up on Oiran's on Wikipedia... it just reasserts my conviction that Japan is such a wonderfully complex society with rich history. Asahi-sama is a great ambassador for her country.

ah yes i understand what you mean. geishas were confined to suffocatingly strict practices. where as oirans had more artistic licensee to do whatever they wanted. none the less, your cultural dresses and some practices are very enchanting and beautiful. :)
