Summer Programs 2024

In 2024, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving awarded $772,567 to support summer programs across Greater Hartford. As a result of these grants, more than 6,200 Hartford youth and individuals with disabilities from across Greater Hartford participated in free and reduced-cost summer programs. Over the past 7 years, we've granted roughly $6 million in support of summer programming.
Summer programs provide young people with an opportunity to explore new environments, learn new skills, and make friends while offering structured activities that research suggests can mitigate summer learning loss and improve academic engagement.
