It is unbelievable... at 19:38, Goichi knew that SF would continue the pressure with a vanish, so he counters with a Down Heavy... but SF knew this was coming, so he follows vanish with a back dash and repeats pressure. So fast and difficult to see, but shows how deep these guys know the game and each other...
A team he made only like a week ago with a character the japanese considered a low tier (which I thought was absolutely crazy).
If you watched his streams he really labbed it out and grinded to learn his team in a short time.
Freakin genius how he adapts from a strictly neutral control (Hit), then mostly mixups (Cell), and now a focus on both.
Agreed this team is interesting because it both controls the neutral and is amazing rush down. It can do everything. Unlike the purely neutral control hit/goku black team(except 16 who he did well with even then vs GO1), or the more rushdown cell/kid buu team slightly lacking in neutral(got destroyed by reflect and guard cancel/raw tag in setups).
Kevin Nguyen the man is a genius when it come comes to fighting games.

GO1 honestly needs to change his team. He is the only one who hasn't gone through some sort of adaption. Everyone has his number with that team, hopefully he decides to change it for EVO or at least after the new DLC otherwise I can't see him winning any big tournaments
it's not G01 team it is just the state of mind he was in when he fought. I notice it can go either way when someone is nervous and dropping combos.
Terry Bogard Yeah and this state of mind stems from people studying his team and now knowing how it operates. Now people can put him in situations that in the past was something considered impossible because they know his team
Im sorry but GO1 relies strongly on vegeta assist in the neutral and defensively. I think the vegeta nerf had a significant effect on his team. Hes still great but he’s not as good as Sonic in the neutral(which didnt matter much at final round because vegeta assist covered so much neutral). Even vs dogura its affected him some

Adult gohan is good but not that good. I don't think G01 will pick adult gohan again at least I highly doubt it.
Its not cheap its a crutch. Notice how much Kaz and other players improved when dropping Vegeta. Using a crutch only hurts you the longer you refuse to adapt

GO1 doesn't like AGohan anymore due to the huge nerf that he got but AGohan is still a great character. Either way, GO1 is still a force to be reckoned with. SonicFox has multiple teams with great synergy unlike GO1 so that makes him more unpredictable than ever. It's nice too see SonicFox owning like I'm used to seeing though. My boi Fox tearin it up!

Go1 looks shook every time he faces SF. Makes a bunch of mistakes and drops combos. He will continue losing for being shook.

Not really I don't think a couple bo5 sets determine who is the best, still quite a lot of variance. I would love them play a super long set like ft50, that would really be telling.
Couldn't disagree more. It might be true that this time around sonic fox came out on top. But data shows that its a constant struggle to maintain a advantage over each other not just GO1 and SF but the majority of top 8 players have consistently shown that no one is the best for long.

Yes really. SF is 4-1 against Go1 in tournament play. Fox hasn't lost to him in 4 months

Go1 hasn’t won a big tournament (I mean he won that one tournament in Madrid, Spain), but he hasn’t won a tournament since FGC arena and the one before that was Esports Opening Las Vegas Grand Opening. It’s been a rocky summer for him, honestly I think he should change his team entirely, but not his style of play. I mean it’s getting to the point where Dogura places higher than Goichi at this tournament. I guess we’ll just have to wait till Evo to find out.
Armando Santana you are totally right , although go1 is still undoubtedly top 3 in the world (he's been mad consistent in all his tourneys along w sonic fox) his team has really becomes washed out. He really needs to change his team asap.
To be completely honest I think he should switch back to Gohan, even after the nerf. His Gohan was incredible.
Dogura is just a better professional player he competes in tekken,injustice,fighterz and SF he has the experience meanwhile go1 is really known for one game
We aren't talking about those other games, because that doesn't make him better as a DBFZ player. Go1 has been the undisputed best DBFZ player in the world for a while now and he's not looking as good as he previously has. Go1 is still an insanely consistent player. Dogura doesn't have the same spark. Until he starts playing more consistently, he is not a better player.
Gato Laflare good sir, he also plays sfv, and is really well known player in Japan alongside Daigo, Bonchan, Mago, Fuudo,etc
I use go1 team online and it does well but once people figure them out it’s tuff to run them I suggest go1 to switch team everyone has change there team somehow and adapt while he hasn’t

Except none of his characters are low tier
arbussman Gotenks was low tier-low mid tier, and he made him a playable character. Also, in Injustice 2, he bodied and trolled people with Captain Cold (a very low tier character that got no looks at any level)
Acel Sean Example: Gotenks, Captain Cold, now possibly Zamasu
With the pressure game that GO1 loves and is a beast at, im surprised he hasnt brought Adult Gohan back instead of Cell or maybe even Bardock

ZxChrono Sonicfox and Goichi are the two best and Goichi hasn't beat Sonicfox in a long time. Nobody wins every tournament and everybody can't make top 8. Dekillsage and Dogura are just as good if not better than everybody that didn't attend.
Stefan Woldridge they are the two best at this tournament they're not the two best in the world anymore.... Sonic fox changed his team 3 times already and Go1 been getting schooled since he swapped gohan for bardock...

I think it's character unfamiliarity that allows sonicfox to win, he is really good but I'm sure the pros are just programed to be really efficient against the top tiers.
Koyon TC nah it’s his skill and ability to use multiple characters most can’t even touch go1 with low tiers.
The Gawd yeah those who aren't pros, Sonic fox isn't like an average pro. We all know sonicfox is way different than other pros and has great advance knowledge of fighting games so I'm sure he is able to do or find out things others can't. I'm sure if GO1 changes his team he would also have an advantage. Sonic lost his advantage with his old team once everyone started using it so a change of team is the only thing he can do to stay one move ahead of GO1 imo.

I actually like the fact that SF expirements with different squads. It keeps things interesting. Who else would be running a Zamasu in the top 8? Especially since it's full of Cells, Kid Buus, and Vegetas. Yea he runs Bardock now, but you need at least one top tier on your squad. This is also why I enjoy watching Hook play. I hope he NEVER drops Piccolo.
I don't know why but it felt like Goichi was frazzled a bit. If not, a lot. Especially in his defense. Sonic's Zamasu is godlike. Good set
Shirley Polanco Sonic has pretty much figured GO1 out or at the very least is no longer intimidated by him. I don’t recall the tournament (Combo Breaker maybe?) but Sonic’s offense was so oppressive that GO1 had his face in his hands and looked really shaken. Sonic is just a nightmare to go up against when he is on his A game.

He is EASILY the second best in the world. Might be first again. He taught most people how to play Cell the way hes played everywhere now. Just needs a change up to his team because too many people know his tendencies now.
People get angry at Sonic fans for some reason and then say he's not as good as other people and I personally am not a big fan but results and numbers don't lie and he's a monster
Not to mention he's a top player at like 3-4 different games not just this one which makes it more impressive due to the time being spread out between multiple unique fighters
Yeah I’d say Sonic is pretty handily the best now. He’s even going the Japanese route of grinding the game heavily with others. Commendable.

I think Vegeta isn’t working that well for GO1. Sonicfox’s team works well in neutral alone and tends to use assists for pressure/combos. GO1 relies on Vegeta assist a lot for neutral. At launch, Vegeta’s assist was used mainly for pressure. That doesn’t work as well anymore so you can tell GO1 is trying to use it to catch Sonicfox in neutral. The thing is Sonicfox just keeps on avoiding the assist my going over it. The assist isn’t working out that well. Without that assist, Vegeta isn’t an amazing character.
You also notice that most of GO1’s effective parts are with Bardock. Bardock works pretty well in neutral by himself without relying on Vegeta. He is reliant on using Vegeta’s assist as a neutral threat but that isn’t working. I feel that if he switches to a different assist that works for pressure, he can focus on neutral and improve his pressure.
Yeah it really feels like GO1's team is falling behind the times. Meanwhile everyone else has moved on to using assists like Kid Buu or Yamcha to fill in the lockdown role.

Truth Seeker I don’t think that would really work. His team would lack a good assist. I think Goku would work. He could either switch Vegeta out for a beam assist, Yamcha’s assist, or Kid Buu. I would like to see GO1 use Vegeta’s assist in some other manner since he does neutral pretty well as Vegeta.
Guess Who Maybe Bardock, SSJ Goku and Adult Gohan could work. Cool family team as well :P

A Gohan won't automatically mean a return to glory. Now Gohan is still good just not as busted as we was before. I personally think he should start with breaking the Vegeta addiction.

TBH it's not even Zamasu doing work for SonicFox, it's how he backs up Bardock and 16. His Zamasu hasn't done anything apart from day 1 confirms. I'm not hating on the kid, but this team is more Bardock and 16, than actual Zamasu.

heavensgate7337 nope , vegeta is all round a good character , he has good neutral , an invincible dp , okay mix ups , a good lev 1 super and lev 3 super , he's capable of handling himself in battle which is what makes a character good
