At first glance, this game seems outdated for a long time, but it has such mechanics that are not even found in modern AAA projects. Gothic is still one of the best games of all time.
Twenty Years later and it feels like I am learning more about Gothic than I have ever before -- it made me laugh when the Hero picked up and threw around Chairs and Goblin-Corpses (so cute). Awesome Channel, thank you so much for these Videos! :D
The dialogs are very cool in this version imo. Also how all the NPCs react and interact with each other. It gives the game even more "life" then the original game already does. :D
I'll switch to "common tongue" for this video :D What an interesting sight. The original Gothic really lacks conversations, that include several NPCs at one time. I thought this pre-alpha would be empty and boring, but thanks to scripted events it actually felt very immersive. And I bet you know, which mechanic I liked the most :P
It's safe to say that there will be more coming. I don't know when because the times are tough right now and I don't have nearly as much time to dedicate to video making as I used to.

Mimo wszystko że dla mnie jako wieloletniego gracza Gothica takie demo to fajna sprawa to jakby Gothic został wydany w takiej właśnie formie to bym nawet na niego nie spojrzał. Dla mnie syf okropny od strony graficznej i zniechęciło mnie na starcie. Ale jako że to tylko demo sprzed lat to może i bym nawet z pięć minut prograł z ciekawości.

The graphics (and the music used) remind me of POP 3D. However, it is sad that Gothic 1 was never completed, not even retrospectively.

How did you make it running? For me the hero himself, many NPCs and also some objects are just invisible. But I can move and everything.
