Hi! Very nice video! Question: I run once a week on mountain (max 10kms), dry terrain, not technical, what I must choose : Sense Ride 5 or ultra glide 2 and why? Thanks 😊
I personally prefer the Ultra 3 (review coming soon by the way). It’s a more refined shoe that’s lighter, more comfortable and has a better lacing system.
I was looking for hiking shoes and was thinking of these (it was one of the few options in my size). I won't do trail running for now but i was wondering if the front material will be a problem for a rocky terrain.
I am watching this after running 700 k with this Sense Ride 5 on the hills. I should say this is a great review and I agree with everything you say. Especially the downhill running part. My both toenails are broken 😅 I do feel those problems during downhills. What do you recommend then? I am thinking about Supercross 4 gtx...
Hey, You're my hero running 700km in these trail running shoes! 😅 haha. I'd recommend taking a look at my best trail running shoes roundup for the most up to date recommendations. I will be splitting this post into more specific roundups for different types of trail running very soon but look at the best overall for the best all rounders: www.trailandkale.com/gear/best-trail-running-shoes-buyers-guide/ My tops picks right now are The Hoka Speedgoat 6, Timp 5, Sylan, and the Catamount 3! All awesome trail running shoes that knock the socks off the Sense Ride 5.

@@trailandkale thank you. And thank you for making direct statements when reviewing the shoes. By the way the sole of sense ride slipped and went out behind my heel after 100km only and I had to buy new soles. I think it's because of the extreme downhill in one of my favourite routes. But I was definitely not expecting that. Also the broken toes 😅 both broken from the same point. My normal size is 44 and my sense ride is 46, so in fact there is plenty of space there. Anyway, thank you 🙏
Oh man I bet that was a scary moment! Do you mean the insole/insert? I was really disappointed in how the Sense Ride handled steep downhills, and my toes hated me for putting them through all that for a review lol - occupational hazard I guess! Maybe I should write a story or put a video together outlining some of the shit I have to go through to in order to properly test running shoes lol.

@@trailandkale yes insole/insert. I replaced it with something from the local shop
Hi ! I've just bought these, my first trail running shoes :)... I tried these on a short run around my neighboorhood paths (5 km), but found the midsole very firm. Does it breaks in a little with time ?
Hello. I'm looking for a shoe to use on 70% asphalt and 30% terrain. Sometimes I can even walk rather than run. Since my feet are uncombed and thin, wide shoes tire me out. Would you recommend salomon ultra flow?
The V3 was such a great shoe, V4 had a crappy heel construction with no heel lock whatsoever, and V5 have a narrow toebox.... Why do companies keep changing great shoes just for the sake of it...
Excellent video. Well presented . Thank you for sharing!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
If you have a question, feel free to ask in the comments and I'll reply soon

Thank you! I would recommend ultra glide 2. It’s a much more comfortable shoe and just generally better all round 👍🏼
@@trailandkale thanks a lot 👍😊
The Sense Ride 5 & the S/Lab Ultra 3 seem very similar on paper. Do you have any thoughts or preferences on one over the other ?

They should be good for hiking! You should also consider the Cloudultra 2 and Speedgoat 6. Both reviews are on our channel
@@trailandkale thank you!
welcome!

They are generally quite firm shoe. They break in a little but that’s how they feel
I also had that constricting issue. I did not notice it when trying. It is very uncomfortable.
Yeah not great at all! Shane you didn’t catch my review before buying!
Shame*

Do you mean ultra glide? I think the Pegasus Trail 5 would be good for you Or even the Hoka Challenger 7.
If you want a bouncy shoe, check out the On Cloudsurfer Trail. Watch my reviews to learn more about them, they’re all good in their own way…
@@trailandkale no. Salomon ultra flow is another model.
@abunsal oh yes, sorry! Getting my ultras mixed up! I don’t have any experience with the Ultra Flow yet. It looks nice though and a great price.
