Bill Wilson's monumental achievement, in addition to his own seemingly unattainable sobriety, was the writing of AA's "Big Book". The principles it espouses have transformed the lives of millions the world over. It is so gratifying to hear his story preserved here in his own spoken words.
I have committet to memory verbatim the few pages of the Big Book entitled "How It Works" which contain the powerful Twelve Steps of AA, and recite them aloud on a daily basis. "How It Works" has become a blueprint for how to live my own life. Although when practiced they lead to abstinence from alcohol, their impact on day to day behavior is much larger. I acknowledge that I am far from a perfect practitioner of the principles, but they have undeniably made me a much better person in every aspect of my life, and for that, I am eternally grateful!
