To study in the UK, international students need to obtain a student visa, for which they need to apply with a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) letter issued by their chosen university. The CAS letter contains the student's personal information, program details, duration and a unique CAS number. After accepting the admission offer and paying the deposit, the university will send an email invitation for the CAS Shield.
What CAS Shield?
The CAS Shield is an internet-based platform that allows applicants to upload their essential documents and personal information. The system automatically populates with data submitted by the applicant during the application process, including program details. It is the responsibility of the applicant to verify the accuracy of this information, as any errors may lead to visa rejection.
What is CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies)?
A CAS or Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies is an electronic document that provides details about the applicant and their intended program of study, including a unique CAS number. Once the applicant meets the necessary criteria for a CAS, the university will send it to them by email.
Different Universities has a different method to request CAS.
1- It may be by using the shield application or by University Application Portal, or
2- By sending related documents through email to the university.
How to request CAS through CAS Shield Application-
Once you accept the unconditional offer letter. Universities going to send you the link through which you can activate the CAS Shield application.
Remember- You have to have an unconditional offer letter from the universities, you cannot request CAS by using a conditional offer letter, make sure the fulfill all the required conditional offer letters going the unconditional offer letter and start the process of CAS.
What is included in the CAS?
A CAS statement includes the following information.
• Candidate’s Full name
• Date of birth
• Nationality
• Passport number
• Course and level of study
• Course start and end dates
• University's sponsor license number
• University address
• Campus address
• ATAS requirements
• Details of previous UK study (if applicable)
• Tuition fees for the first academic year
• Tuition fees paid to date
• Qualifications required as part of your offer

Guys, some universities want transactions or withdrawals within 28 days. Make sure if they want the money to stay still or the opposite. Because I've waited 28 for nothing. Now I don't know what to do. Because if I make any transaction from my account, I will have to wait another 28 days for visa application and my course starts on 4 September... I hope BCU understands my situation. Wish me luck and be careful.

@@study_abroad_with_maxxcell As you know, our tuition fees and living costs have to stay in our bank account for 28 days without any transaction. When I got my unconditional offer, I paid my deposit and my 28 days started the day after. At the end of it, I got my bank document which shows the money stayed still since last month including currency, bank stamp, signature etc. Then I uploaded it for CAS but they rejected it. They said I needed to make a transaction or deposit payment in the first 14 days and a withdrawal in the last 14 days. However, they have no information on their website regarding this. Now, I don't know what to do because I can not wait another 28 days for the visa if I make transactions in my account to get CAS.
Is it necessary to have email I'd and mobile no on bank balance certificate, and if not there, how embassy will verify the fund from bank??

I’m completing my CAS task list and I’m at financials (funding part)
Say I don’t include my partner and dependents now as I start studies in September 2023. And they join in 2024 say March. With the new restrictions of dependents not allowed on student visa law from January 2024, with my predicament will they be allowed to join me in the UK considering l initially on my CAS application I said not coming with dependents?

What if we are showing 2 statements one from saving account and other from certificates which gives you monthly profit and can be withdrawn anytime you need them.

Hi I just have a query regarding CAS. Do I need to show them 28 days old funds while filling up CAS shield, or is the 28 day rule only for the application of UK student Visa?
Please, there is a misplace of passport photograph on my WAEC CERTIFICATE and it is yet to be rectified but i used affidavit from federal high court to back it up and i have been given an unconditional offer from Swansea University. Please hope the certificate will not hinder my CAS and VISA

Greenwich university just rejected my CAS just because i was rejected from USA student visa!
A big upset has occured for me , I applied for credit hour transfer , top up year at greenwich and paid initial but according to accepted offer letter its year 2 for me :( been 5 days waiting for reply so I can continue with CAS

Hello sir!! I have applied CAS in university of Chester.. I have provided all the documents and my credibility interview was done as well. After submission my CAS shield is showing 61% but now it is showing 34% .. i have applied for CAS just 2 days before. Are these fluctuations are normal or they are showing something negative.. kindly your response will be much helpful.. please respond to it

There is nothing you can do to increase the percentage of CAS. % of CAS on the CAS shield just show that how far has your profile reached to the CAS team. If they need any other documents then you will get a message or email by the team. To reduce the turn around time for CAS, make sure all your documents are in right format.

Hello sir. I got my unconditional offer from University of Chester for MSc programme adn project management. I have completed my credibility interview as well. But i got an email saying you passed your interview and another email saying custom document rejected. What does that mean? And in my CAS shield there's nothing written on custom request document. How to know which document to upload?

CAS is needed only for the study VISA purpose. If you don’t need VISA then CAS is not needed.
Good evening sir please I made a mistake when filling my cas sheild indicating am going with my wife, so after submission I sent a message from CAS sheild icon and reply I request for edit hope it won't affect me getting cas.
It may delay a bit. I strongly recommend to send an email to CAS Team of your University.

You can get a same Name Affidavit for your father form any advocate.

You can show different funds for CAS and VISA. Keep in mind that the funds should be matured (Complete 28 days criteria). Wish you luck for successful VISA.
Even my CAS shield got stucked at 61% from past 5 days even there’s no message from university (LONDON METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY ) nd it’s been 18 days i have applied for CAS letter..

That must be due to the high volume of CAS requests at this point in time. I had a similar case where it has taken almost a month time. You have to have faith and patience. If there is any missing information in the CAS shield then the LMU Cas team will inform you. You can expect a positive response in a week time.

For CAS, it is okay. But, please mention the information about dependents in the VISA application.

In spouse case, Funds should be either in your account or in Bank account of your spouse. Rest all the steps will be same.

Can you please provide a bank letter, stamped and signed by an official, which confirms the funds available in your Fixed Deposit Account.

Credibility interview and CAS Shield from are different aspects. You have to fill CAS shield from to get the CAS statement.

I had a student visa refusal approximately nine years ago due to an affordability issue. I am wondering if this past visa refusal will have any impact on my ability to obtain a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from Greenwich University.
If you have taken care of the reason of the past VISA refusal reason, such as lack of funds or so, then there should not be any issue.

Hi Dear, CAS Team works in a separate department than admission team. It is normal to receive a CAS Shield link at this stage. But, you will be able to complete the CAS form and receive the CAS statement. only when you have relevant documents to fulfill the condition of your conditional offer letter.

Universities have their own modus operandi. For example, as per 2023 updates, Bristol University does not need any Financial Documents for the CAS. But, University of Greenwich required Financial Statement for CAS. You have to check as per the University.

CAS is assessed by CAS team of the respective University and VISA application is assessed by UKVI. Having CAS statement with you does not guarantee VISA.
If you provide sufficient documents with your VISA application then I am very positive about your VISA outcome.
