Thank you for sharing this. I always wanted to do a dump bed. And with this platform, I now have confidence in doing it. I also may have seen you post about how to do this in a Facebook Mazda group. I’m in several of them.
I'm no professional or claim to be but I do have Fabrication skills. Sometimes you have to just figure a way to make things work. Either way my son I seeing the progression of this truck and hopefully might learn a thing or 2 along the way.
@@jfabminitrucks3551 I’m the same as you man. Always wanted to do a convertible Mazda as well. And here you and your son have both of what I wanted lol Such great stepping stones of fab work. Big fan of it
Cool Video brother! So the bed is now permanently welded to the frame? Could everything you made be welded up then bolted to the frame, instead of being welded to the frame?
Mazda b2600i 4x4 with 20 inch tires. I want to lower it to be just above the tires. Not lowered far. Any suggestions and what would I need to lower it from what site. Thanks... would love to have the bed to raise up and lower down so I can put my bike on... lol
@MazdaMini956 bed has held up great like I did it yesterday. The used pump I have on it needs a rebuild. It leaks. But other than that. Getting ready to do some bodywork and finish up capping the top. Since this video we chopped it 9½" and looks bad ass
@@jfabminitrucks3551 badass bro good to hear that gives me confidence into doing mine now im in the process of buying all the metal right now still need to buy the hinges so i can start doing mine i cant wait for mine to come out
It is 100% possible. I think it’s just more common for minis to have roll pans or be completely molded smooth. I would however use much larger hinges than used here. 1/2” diameter x 4”- steel pin gate hinges. Much stronger and still cheap enough.
“The wiring is the hardest part”
Says the one observing the welding 😂😘
Great vid. Mocking up and tacking while the bed is on makes total sense.
thanks for the video, I just purchased me an S-10, will be doing a convertible top and tilt bed and may try for a dually rear end.
It was the best video I seen I'm doing a tilt bed on a 88 toy with electric cylinders
Nice freaking job 🤙
I mean it worked. And still does

That truck is sick bro. Nice work.
truck doing the stanky leg

It is, and yes it could be bolted on we may cut welds down the road and bolt in the back piece 2x2.
What type hydraulic ram did you use?
Did you chopped the top off yourself? ...if so do you have a video of the process.?
I don't have e footage of it.
Truck looks great this video was very helpful I'm thinking of doing my Chevy s10 too but I also want to cut the top...thanks

Email me what you trying to do jbsgarage2021@gmail.com
How much did you have to separate the bed from the cab to prevent hitting it
Not at all stock location
What dimensions are the hinges used on on the tilt bed
How thick is the 2x2 square tubing?
1/4"
@@jfabminitrucks3551how has the bed hailed up since you built im thinking of doing mine exactly the same with the same style hinges

I want a tilt bed but don't want to loose my bumper every truck I seen remove the bumper
