I loved the 79 , 400. A friend had one ,when he could get it running it was fast. If the decompression lever was not pulled in you could not kick start it .
Wish i still had my 78 400, such great power delivery, when you look back at the history of Maico it's a shame they lost their way after 82, for a relatively small company compared to the japanese big four they did some things, look how close they came with the great Graham Noyce!
I remember seeing new macio' in 82 and they came with riding gear and a 10 speed road bicycle to train on and I wanted one especially the 490 sand spider
