    Great to see the ants doing what they would do in the wild...
    Great idea to make a "self contained" feeding area, win, win set up..

    Hi D Colony I’m an subscriber and I want to make this Self Feeding Ant Farm just like you but I can’t find buffalo beetles online so what insects do you suggest?

    • @Dcolony
      @Dcolony  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn't bought mine too buddy, they just came from my first batch of Dubia roach colony before which I continue to breed with the roaches. Maybe you mealworm Beatles but I'm afraid they're too big so I won't recommend it.

    Roaches might be able to survive in there as well if you use burrowing roaches

    • @Dcolony
      @Dcolony  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I have the same tank experimenting on using Dubai, they do well with the other critters. It's running for maybe 4 months now, but no ant colony yet.

    Darkling Beetles are capable of decapitation. Those ants shouldn’t underestimate the adult mealworms ☝️ Adult Superworms are even bigger and bigger mandibles. My camponotus minor worker paid a high price for messing with an adult superworm. I woke up one day, and it’s head was cleaved off. The Darkling Beetle was upside down with it’s body in it’s mandibles

    you know the video were you tried to start an ant war. wellll i was thinking you should do it again with different types of species, it will be interesting, but if you dont want different species of ant bc you know its obvious, i guess you can try native ant species vs the same native ant species in your country or area. for testing bc in the video that you did 1 year ago, the ant might have been invasive so that they could grow the invasive ant species but i might be wrong
