Even if you're not a South Park fan this game is an excellent example of how licensed TV and movie games should be handled. The creators and producers of the show are gamers themselves, they had a direct influence on everything that was created for the game, and they took their time to create a quality product instead of a rushed out game that just had the name of the show on it.

Another fact: Stick of Truth was initially going to have foreign language dubs; even the trailers were in various languages other than English: French, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, and Portuguese. When THQ went bankrupt and the rights of the game were bought by Ubisoft, the dubs were scrapped and only the text was translated. It's ironic because Ubisoft is known to be pro-dubbing.

This game is for every south park fan. No really. This is the right way to make a licensed game. There have been other south park games, but this is the definitive way the south park gaming franchise started.

This is my favorite Did You Know Gaming episode, ever. The whole thing read like an actual South Park episode with all the ridiculous but understanding ideas in place, and the monotone narration made it even better, bravo!

A really great game, Obsidian deserves all the praise. They are one of the few companies who still knows how to develop a really good rpg. Even Bioware and Bethesda lost their touch with time, but Obsidian remains strong as ever. Parker and Trey choose them wisely.
I loved this game! It was like a love letter to the fans and reminded me why I adore the show. Not to mention, it felt just like playing through a South Park episode. Not many licensed games can pull that off. Can't wait for the next one!
so true, it was nice that it felt like playing through a south park episode. it was hilarious and fun. most licensed games don't do that. this is why alot of gamers avoid games based on movies and such because there is usually no passion made into it but you can clearly feel the passion that the creators put into this video game. Anyone who likes the series would like this game.
Wow, bravo. Can we have more episodes like this where you give ample time dedicated to a single title's development cycle? This episode was well researched and interesting throughout, following the dev cycle added a story arc to the episode that made it much more enjoyable and Caddy did a fine job.

The whole censoring thing is pure bullshit. People are censoring art, because what? They dislike the humor? They cant laugh about things that happened? Kinda ironic, considering the titanic sunk with a few thousand people dying and now is often used for fun activities in theme parks and shit. Censoring art is fucking illegal and people somehow still think its legit to censor videogames that are from adults, to adults.

People who support any type of censorship are fascists whether they realize it or not. Censorship is never right.
There is absolutely no situation where censorship can be considered acceptable.
When it comes to humor, where do you draw the line?! It's either all okay or none of it okay. You can't have your cake and eat it too, especially when it comes to censorship.
Censoring content to avoid offended people is a common practice and in my opinion sets a very dangerous precedent. People absolutely have the right to be offended, but they don't have the right to censor other people because of it.

About the censorship in the german version regarding swastikas: thats not a decision up to the publisher. They are forced to do this by law as the swastika and a bunch of other symbols used by the nazis are forbidden by our our constitution. They may only be used in films under certain circumstances and for educational purposes. They are completely off limits in video games, though.

There's a difference between 18+ games and games indexed by the bpjm. 18+ games like call of duty can still be openly sold in a regular electronics store or Amazon. if the game is put on the bpjm index due to symbols that are against the constitution this is no longer the case, the game must not be accessible to minors, even visualy. Also, they could not distribute it digitally via Xbox live due to this fact. they could have released it uncensored but they would not have been able to reasonably sell it.

Every company censors their games one way or another depending on the region. Sony, for example, heavily censored The Last of Us(and many of their other games) in Japan because it was too violent. Yet no one seems to know or care about that...
Nintendo may be the one that gets the most attention on this subject, but they are not the only ones that do it, nor are they the ones responsible for the most heaviest of censorship in recent years.
Besides, Does no one remember the South Park game that was released on the N64?! That game was about as raw as it gets.

The point is I would have preferred it on my Wii U. It would have been better to play with the gamepad. Most games, especially RPGs, would be. There's no reason not to. The tech is right there. The game has been programmed already. I may have actually paid for it if I could have bought it for my Wii U. What's the point of NOT publishing it on a console that could easily support it and offer an enhanced experience?

I got this game on sale about a year ago, and I'm not the biggest south park fan, but this game is amazing! Played through it about 4 or 5 times just to get all the achievements, I loved it!

this was a great game to play with friends when it came out we knew our parents would really get on us for playing it so what we ended up doing is I bought it during a steam Christmas sale and we streamed it on one of my friends TV's and played for 2 days before beating the game 100% it was the funniest party we ever had

Am I the only one who would gladly buy part 2 through however many it required, to play all the stuff they had to take out (if it wasn't subsequently used for The Fractured But Whole, of course). So many cool-sounding things that would be awesome, even if it was using the initial game's structure, fighting system, etc.

This game is so good. Even better if you're a big South Park fan. I've played through the game as a Mage and a Thief, and plan on playing as the Fighter and Jew before The Fractured But Whole comes out. I hope it's just as good or better.

kind of surprised theres no mention to how the game ties directly to the black Friday trilogy being the ending of the trilogy has the stick that is the plot devise for the game with them still being in character from the trilogy.
Hopefully they can use some of the cut content in the fractured but whole! It sucks that we'll never see the "full complete game"...
