  • Banbury is a wonderful place for a short break. We have had great moments spent in this town, so despide the fact it's quite expensive, you have a lot of places to visit.
You just need to walk and you'll see all the things we have seen. And if you're interested please focus on the two pubs we've visited. It's awesome!

It’s good that you are getting in front of the camera more, cracked me up when I saw the “Dan Dan the cameraman” clip, that was just something I did when you were at the bar as a surprise for when you started editing 😂😂😂😂
We do need to visit the Banbury Cross before the end of summer again 🍻🍻🍻

After I've seen the surprise, I've said why not integrating it in the video :) Regarding the Banbury Cross Pub, yes, we do need to visit it again soon.

Started my career at General Foods Ltd in 1979. Spent my first ever night in Banbury at the Whately Hall Hotel. It was a great company to work for before it was acquired by Phillip Morris & Kraft Foods. All downhill from there & I left for pastures new. Still very fond memories of the town & people.

I'm Banbury born and bred, and you did miss a lot of good places which has already been discussed.
You walked right past my favourite place to eat, and that is Voujon located right before you get to St Johns. The food is Indian, plentiful, and delicious. It has a lovely courtyard to eat if weather permits, and i enjoy sitting out there after dinner with a glass of wine.
There is so much history, and also Broughton Castle to visit with its beautiful moat surrounding it. Next time i reccomend Ye Olde Reindeer Inn on Parsons Street for a truly historical pub, and do have your lunch in the Globe room in back.
    Safe travels.

Banbury is now just an average, car infested pitstop town between B'Ham and London. I (M,23) live here. The town centre is full of empty stores, not much going on after 7pm, and the bus network is very infrequent the timetable is symbolic if not meaningless. Which matters as Banbury is pretty hilly and there are a lot of pensioners who would rather take the bus than drive so you would think it would be better. The council is just made up of mostly retirees who are home dry, (grandfathered pensions, home paid off etc) thus they have checked out and have no new ideas. The blue collar manufacturing jobs (which are hard for young people to get into now as the central government isn't interested in helping the private sector take on young people nor investing in vocational education) are reducing in quality as pay as not kept up with inflation.

You really should have done more research into where you were visiting and the buildings you visited. Banbury used to have a castle, in the area where Castle Quay was built, hence the name. Very old town with alot of history. The Shopping Centre frontage used to be the fish market frontage in the early 1900's I believe, possibly older. The River Cherwell runs right near the canal, and you can walk near it through Spiceball Park which is just a short walk from where you were standing looking at the map.
The Town Council is actually The Town Hall which has an underground bunker.
The Olde Reindeer Inn has lots of history, including the Globe Room there being used by Oliver Cromwell.
I'm not sure what you included in your other video, but you have certainly missed alot of the good stuff.

First of all, we appreciate this comment as we didn't knew there's so many things to see in Banbury. We usually don't plan our trips. Therefore, what we're doing is visiting the towns randomly. This is making the trips more interesting in our opinion. But if we'll visit the town the 2nd time, we will follow the places mentioned in the comment. Thanks for feedback

The Banbury Cross pub is awesome and the landlord is one of the best in the business.
