Brilliant first banjo, mine did me for 5 years before an upgrade. Bought mine off my friend who changed to the mandolin, his wife hated the sound of the banjo!
I love the lighter weight and the feel of the neck on these banjos. Setup correctly they can sound very well. I had one but the neck started bowing forward to the point of it becoming hard to play in the middle of the neck. No truss rod for adjustment. Had to replace it with another neck.
Sounds great! I have the same banjo and can play the first tune in time but slower, but the sound isn't tight like this..The notes just echos on and on and it feels like the notes clash.. Only thing that works is a towel.. But that shouldn't be necessary, right? Any tips?
I dunno man, it does have a lot of resonance for only being an open back and that's what I love about it. If you find the notes clash, the only thing I could recommend is seriously tuning it and finding the perfect placement for your bridge as well to get it all pitch perfect. Jim Pankey has great videos on just that
Rob makes every banjo sound great!👍👍👍👍👍

The guy I take bass lessons from also gives banjo lessons. He has one of these in the lesson room. Sounds pretty good!!
