Hi Sascha, thanks for your Feedback. There could bei different reasons. Did you Double Check your cam Connection? What Pi you running at? On a pi3 you have to enable glamor did you so this? Did you run a Test Script without face detection, to See the cam installation is working at all?
I used to make bash scripts to make Nginx based video stream and video recording to file via standard picamera tools and ffmpeg. Had some fun, but they need some adjustments

Why mine is only displaying a blank transparent screen on the camera window.
Most Times a Problem with the Connection to the camera. Did you Check the cam / Pi Connection is working?
