They are using natrual materials but they need to stabalize the banks on both ends of the bridge with some concrete and blocks and build a concrete bridge so it can withstand the water when there's a lot of rain. Or create planks with the treetrunks so stepping on the bridge will be stable and safer. It's understandable that it will cost a lot more, but it will be more durable for longer period of time.
