    How did you get from boat to truck without getting in water you did not show that someone got there feet wet

    You put your hand on the bottom of the steering wheel and steer from there. Then if you want your boat to go left you slightly go left with your hand on the bottom of the steering wheel.
    The same for if you want to go right. With your hand on the bottom of the steering wheel just slightly move your hand to the right. Go slow and that is one easy way to know how to back up your boat.

      Yeah I was perplexed by what she said. If I turn the wheel left (counterclockwise), my trailer will turn right. She missed a key detail.

  • @ventutrer

    Good video ....except to cut right, you turn left, and to cut left you turn to the right.

    Don't follow what she says. Backwards of what she said. When backing up if you want your boat to go right, turn left. If you want it to go left, turn right. She is talking about steering from the bottom of the wheel, that's not the way people drive.

    When backing up if you turn your wheel right the trailer will go left not right. Put your hand on the bottom of the wheel and move it right for trailer to go right and vice versa.

    You have one of the smartest and simplest methods for self launching. Keeping the trailer connected and tying a long lead to your truck is so smart and easy. Nice work on this video.

    You're backward on the steering wheel directions (unless your hands are at the bottom of the wheel).

  • @subllibrm1

    Okay, I am stumped. How did you get out of the boat after you connected the strap?
    You said "I'm going to get up to the truck"but no video of doing that.
    I would have to climb over the winch stand and balance beam the tongue to get to dry land.
    With a decent dock and the trailer backed in snug I could do it but on an open ramp!?!

    UNLESS,
    Your hands are on the bottom of the steering wheel of the towing vehicle,
    your theory of "if you want to turn your boat to the right, turn your wheel to the right" is totally out the window, because what happens it's precisely the opposite of what you said period!
    You're misleading people and that is being irresponsible!!!

    Thank you 🙏🏻
    Now I just have to do it myself 😎🙏🏻
    My new boat is a fiberglass and it’s about 3500 pounds with 4 batteries and trolling motor plus the power pole.
    Definitely don’t want to scratch her up.
    The guy who I bought it from forgot to put the plug 🔌 when we went out, luckily these boats don’t sink and have self draining.
    3 big guys on Clear Lake in Texas and doing approximately 40 miles an hour so one point lol 😂
    My small Lowe aluminum boat almost sank on me at the boat ramp by the time I went to get my car.
    Thank GOD for the lifeguards and sheriffs on our lake here in California, they saved my boat and helped me load it on the trailer and drain it out ❤️🇺🇸💪🏻🙏🏻

    i should probably do it like this so i can get off the ramp faster but luckily where i live the ramps arent that busy. unless its a tournament day and usually those are on the weekends when i dont take fish to the market anyways. i just loosen the main strap that holds the boat on the trailer like a couple feet back down slowly into water and watch for the boat to start floating then get out release that main hook get in it and start it and park it. but ya this is a lot faster. sometimes my boat will come all the way off trailer but because its still attached with that main hook it wont go anywhere and the launch i use is kind of protected from the wind and waves. good tips though.

    Whoa! All wrong. You turn the steering wheel to the right, and the boat goes left. You turn the steering wheel to the left, and the boat goes right. You're just confusing everyone. Check out the hand at the bottom of the steering wheel technique for an easy to remember method. Unless you're like me and can think in opposites. I readily use the steering wheel right to go left and steering wheel left to go right all the time. Otherwise, good job with the launching solo tips.

    Nice video. But, 1, I can't get into my boat from the bow. 2, I dont want my boat pulled up on to a rocky shore and rarely have a sand beach at the launch. And 3, how often are the waves, wind, current and other boaters favourable enough to actually do that?

    • @NicoleStoneOutdoors
      @NicoleStoneOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well considering I’ve done it with other boaters, wind and waves... I would say very favorable. That’s why you tie it up.
      As for the rocks? Well then you are going to have to come with a system where you leave your boat off of shore and wade out to get it, if you don’t want to pull it to shore. Not a problem for me or most people I’ve fished with.

    • @RH-qk5lt
      @RH-qk5lt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NicoleStoneOutdoors What I'm saying is this. If the docks aren't in, it's because it's early or late in the year. ie....cold water. No human can climb into my Trophy 205 from the bow and it could be 5 + feet deep at the stern. actually is in most Wisconsin, Illinois, Kentucky lakes I fish. Also, if you tie the bow off, (assuming there's that very convenient tree at all boat launches) the current in all rivers (Mississippi, Wisconsin, IL. ) will push your boat parallel to shore., which your boat did in your video, Bad things happen when your boat is parallel to shore and on rocks. Most lakes I fish are either the Great Lakes, tributaries to them, rivers or river flooded lakes. Like Kentucky Lake, Castle Rock WI, Petenwell WI. Big Current... can't do what you show in your video. I'm happy for you and your friends who boat on inland lakes with no current, sandy tree lined shores and gently tapering shorelines. But that's not reality for millions of people.

    • @RH-qk5lt
      @RH-qk5lt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @CherToldMeToBelieve LOL..... I've had muck boots and waders for 40 years. You don't get it. You can't get into the bow of an Alumacraft Trophy 205. On water or trailer. I can't think of a launch that I fish in Wisconsin, Illinois or Kentucky that you can use waders and make it to the back of my boat. The other point I said was , and if you look closely, because she didn't show it very long...her boat was parallel with the shore too when she got back from parking the trailer. Would you want a $65,000 boat. Hitting the rocks parallel with the shore? Wind, current, waves and water depth all make this only usable on certain lakes. It's nice if it works on your lake and you're by yourself. Thankfully I have more than enough friends that want to fish and can drive a boat and/or back up a trailer.

    Good info, but a few issues I am still weary of (new boat owner). 1. Onshore winds, concerns about the hull scraping/bouncing off rocks. 2. Getting off and on the boat with a big drop (I have a deep V). 3. Need to raise the motor in shallow water and the ability to get traction in the water with the motor.
