A great series documenting your second WHW adventure this year, very enjoyable, thank you. I walked the WHW solo started at the end of May this year 2024. My partner had arranged to walk the WHW with her friend starting 8th October, but her friend could not make the walk due to a family illness. So I waked it again with her staying in guest houses and hotels etc, I found the second time harder than the first but that’s perhaps because I’m getting old now. I don’t have the technology to film our walks, so your films are fantastic to remind us where we have been, we also we stayed in some of the same accommodation as yourself. I agree with you on the expensive places like Kings house etc etc. thank you, best regards, Chris. 🍻👍👍
@@chrisholt2474 Thank you for your kind comments Chris. My hubby and I have stayed in the Kingshouse a couple of times but it just seems to be getting more and more expensive. Prime example is the cost for the dogs - it used to be £10 per dog, per night and now it’s £20…quite why I’m not sure. Even if I was starving hungry, I still don’t think I could bring myself to pay close to £8 for a crappy sandwich.
I watched all your videos together. Brilliant. The W H W I believe is strangely addictive. Even the East side Loch Lomond. Hope you will do it again. Great information on your journey. Will keep looking for your next adventures.
Boy! No wonder people wild camp! Am currently staying 2 nights at tge Travelodge in Leeds. £62. No views but a short train ride to some fine walks and scenery. I'll save uo for Scotland.
@@currykevuk Yep, it’s not cheap…and this was me going for the cheapest options where possible. The worst was Fort William itself - the Travelodge wanted £299 for one night room only - no chance I was paying that, so I was relieved the train home was available!
@ opted to do it over 7 days….. thought that would be the best option. Will be hiking with my partner and maybe friends joining at some point towards the end of it 🥾
Monica amazing journey Ty ,feint as if I was there.. btw did you use a guid book, or can you recommend one ? I’m hopping to walk it in 2025 , a guide would help me a lot, I’m twice your age, that doesn’t seem to matter, just would like to be prepared.👍😇🇺🇸
@@Rigus208 I’m so glad you enjoyed the videos - that’s amazing you’re walking it next year! You’re so right - age is just a number! I didn’t use a guidebook, but there are some good ones available on Amazon. I used the official WHW website (www.westhighlandway.org) which has lots of great information, especially about the different itineraries you can do, depending on how many days you would like to complete it over. If I can help in any way, just let me know 😁
@ ty so much Willis . I’m hoping to do it , only obstacle that may interfere is my AMD . It’s acting up a bit.Hopefully the Dr. can still keep it at bay. He’s been doin an Amy job for the last 8 yrs. only hopin for a few more 🙏🏼
